Friends, I know so many of you have waited and waited and waited on God for so long on an issue or series of issues and yet not tangible, proof producing evidence to show for your tarrying effort. May the Lord grant you more grace, peace and joy whilst you are tarrying in His presence as He brings about solutions in myriads of ways far beyond our finite minds can figure out in Jesus name, Amen.
In waiting, how are we waiting? What questions are we asking ourselves, Him and others? What steps or actions is He asking us to take whilst waiting? Is it praise? Worship, adoration? Encouraging others who are going through same or similar circumstances like us? Or, Are we complaining and digging ourselves more in, into the hole that has no end in sight? Do we blame God, others or ourselves for the unresolved issues of our lives? Or do we go into self confrontation that could drive us into selflessness from ingrained selfishness of the fallen human nature that we are all accustomed to? What is our state of mind whilst we tarry? What has He said concerning our state that we are not paying attention to?
Have we tarried long enough to lift up:
– that son or daughter of ours that has left home like the prodigal son or daughter?
– that baby that will just not come or stay despite countless attempts?
– that dream that was so crystal clear when God showed us 10, 20, and 30 years on, and nothing in the horizon?
– that beautiful girl or handsome man that we eagerly wait for as life partner that will not materialize?
– that marriage storms that keeps us awake all night wondering how we got yourselves into the mess in the first place?
– the business failures, or ministry failures and loads of headache that we are just about to throw in the towel?
– that ill health that defies medical science and countless prayer and fasting effort but no sound health..?
– that heavy indebtedness and financial battles that seems to be drowning us into precipice?
– that circle of failures upon failures that knows no boundaries?
– and many others without end.. ??????..
Take heart, …be still and know that I am God Psalm 46:10 God said and He is still saying the same thing..
In relationship to persistent prayer Jesus told a parable in
Luke 18:1-8
Amplified Bible, Classic Edition
18 Also [Jesus] told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not to turn coward (faint, lose heart, and give up).
2 He said, In a certain city there was a judge who neither reverenced and feared God nor respected or considered man.
3 And there was a widow in that city who kept coming to him and saying, Protect and defend and give me justice against my adversary.
4 And for a time he would not; but later he said to himself, Though I have neither reverence or fear for God nor respect or consideration for man,
5 Yet because this widow continues to bother me, I will defend and protect and avenge her, lest she give me [b]intolerable annoyance and wear me out by her continual coming or [c]at the last she come and rail on me or [d]assault me or [e]strangle me.
6 Then the Lord said, Listen to what the unjust judge says!
7 And will not [our just] God defend and protect and avenge His elect (His chosen ones), who cry to Him day and night? Will He [f]defer them and [g]delay help on their behalf?
8 I tell you, He will defend and protect and avenge them speedily. However, when the Son of Man comes, will He find [[h]persistence in] faith on the earth?
Jesus prayed 3 times through the night that if it is possible, let this cup pass from me.. Matthew 26:39.. why?
He expresses the natural human desire to avoid pain and suffering and pending separation from the Father… Jesus was fully man and fully God on earth..
In our world today, we have gotten used to everything microwave style.. microwave this and microwave that…we have gotten to the point where we want to think it and attract it in a flash..like husband, wife, wealth, god, devil, everything..God is not our father Christmas on all issues of life. ..He is God..He is a hiding God – Isaiah 45:15… He onfolds Himself to those who seek Him and search for Him with all that they have got..deep within.. Jeremiah 29:13
Waiting is tough..no one gets used to waiting and sometimes waiting and not receiving in the physical can be frustrating.
As loudly exemplified in Hebrews 11 ..where some died but saw answers afar off.. we are people of faith for crying out loud my people..let’s stay our ground until God’s full purpose and potentials in our lives gain manifestation and even if it does not, like the 3 Hebrews boys, and Job..we refuse to give up on God, on ourselves and on others, whoever or whatever they may be..
I don’t know about you but I have learnt in my short history of 55 years of existence and 20 plus years of Christian walk and still learning that nothing divine comes easy… everything on earth and spiritual realm fights God’s purpose… The easy ones come and go easy ..but those that carry divine purpose are usually delayed or have a lot of K legs to them that requires fight and not giving up to bring them into manifestation.
I looked for several wife material – upto six of them, after the first wife left but the day the one God promised and revealed surfaced, that was the day battle started…
You must never , ever give up ..be like the eagle, confront the storms that is standing between you and what God has clearly promised you in His word and through several witnesses..
You must never forget these three things:
1) I am What God says I am and I manifest it 100%
2) I HAVE what God says I Have and experience it 100%
3) I DO what God says I Do, impacting the world in and around me 100%

Tarry ye until..
Luke 24:48-50

48 You are witnesses of these things.
49 And behold, I will send forth upon you what My Father has promised; but remain in the city [Jerusalem] until you are clothed with power from on high.
50 Then He conducted them out as far as Bethany, and, lifting up His hands, He invoked a blessing on them.
Tarrying covers a lot of areas. It doesn’t just bring ANSWERS, but conditions us for the ANSWERS.
Some things we ask God for, we are not ready to receive them.. it is in the place of tarrying that our hearts are prepared to receive them so that we don’t sabotage them in a hurry..
In praying for some mission fields God is sending us to, it might require long period of tarrying to first prepare our hearts for those territories.. so that we can have the heart of God and see them the way He sees them and act the way He will act.
Some fruit of the spirit will never manifest in our lives until God has dealt with the rough edges of our lives through tarrying…
Some crises in our marriages will not go away through one season of prayer until God brings His heart into our heart. Not necessarily the seeming trouble maker in the house but our hearts.. we must ask for discernment as we pray.. seeking to understand why this particular Tarrying is taking long and no visible results..
Some tarrying will be by…my grace is sufficient for you ..for my strength is made perfect in your weakness… 2 Corinthians 12:9 ..talk between Paul and God.. can you hear God? Can you tarry until you hear His voice? He is your father for crying out loud. .ask Him, with the right motive of seeking genuinely to know His heart. ..not to get out of the circumstances but to know His heart… because He has your best interest…find out!
GOD DESIRES TO TAKE THE GLORY THROUGH WHATEVER WE THINK WE ARE GOING THROUGH THAT WE THINK HE DOES NOT KNOW ABOUT… HE KNOWS 360 DEGREES..
SO, OUR TARRYING CONDITIONS US FOR THE ANSWERS
When Elijah prayed for fire, he prayed according to the Lord’s Word and the fire fell.
But when he prayed for rain, he stayed on his knees. It took seven times.
Tarrying is actually staying in His presence until you receive… Even when you receive, keep the relationship on fire. That is not time to take a holiday… What you Tarry to receive, you also tarry to keep and sustain..
It is waiting on the Lord until the answer comes.
God can do anything, but the way He does it confuses the natural man. We understand if He Answers the first time; but if we have to pray seven times, God has a different settings in mind. Hence the need to stay in the Spirit.. be Spirit conscious.. retain the consciousness of God everytime..
God reaches us something new with each setting..about Him, about us and about our World..so tarry with purpose..
Waiting can make the difference between “fainting” and “mounting up”
Quality Tarrying is putting your whole heart and faith into it.
Tarrying can iron out the wrinkles of anxiety and fear. It will bring on a still night, not a windy one.
That is the importance of being still and know that He is God. Psalm 46:10

When I was a teenage boy, I got lost in the woods. I wasn’t upset until I discovered I really was lost. Then I began to churn inside with fear. Being saved, I took off running as I prayed – only to find myself running in circles. I lost all direction of north, south, east and west. My anxiety clouded my thinking and I lost focus..
I would holler out. Oh, if I could have heard a rooster crow, I would have started towards it
Often when one finds he is lost, he will run in circles and end up in the same shape he was in when he first began his search.
I knelt down with one knee on the ground and one up ready to run. I got up before I received any direction or any peace of mind. My search began again. I was still walking in circles! Occasionally I would see my tracks, so I knew I had to be going in circles. I hollered out again. If only I could have heard a train or a car, I would have walked towards it, but no sound’s.
As I walked is said, “Lord, You know where I’m at. You know the way- and you can lead me out.”
But I said all of that in the midst of my anxieties and fears.
The Lord says, “Be still and know..” Now I sought a better way to receive. This time I put both knees on the ground.
I said quietly, “Lord, I’m lost. I cannot get out of these woods without you.” My running, praying, and one knee kneeling still had not subsided my fears. So don’t faint when “one knee down” doesn’t get you through. You may have to come to a place where both knees are going to have to drop to the ground – Surrendering all.
Suddenly, I noticed all fear and anxiety were gone. It seemed I had forgotten I was lost. I stood up and looked every direction. Everything was calm. It was a still day. Such peace came over me. Then in a moment, I said aloud, “I feel peace to turn to my right.” And I began to walk.
I came upon a tree trunk that had fallen across the path. It didn’t completely destroy my view of the path. Opposition will come to hinder you from following the path of peace. I thought I would go around the tree and come to the path on the other side. Never detour in opposition. Right off to the side of the tree, I saw a tin building. I thought, “that is why I got lost.” I had walked around looking at the old building. So I thought, “No, I’m not going around the tree. I’m going under it.” I hugged close to that path. I was still a ways to my house, but I didn’t know that. I just followed the peace. Stay with the peace at any cost. I had to stop and bow my head a few times more. I didn’t look to the right or the left. I said aloud, “I feel peace to go on.” Suddenly, I saw my house across the highway from my path in the woods.
Let the peace of God rule in your heart.
Tarry until you are free from anxiety. Be anxious for nothing.
Tarry until your heart mounts up with praise. Your prayers should be supported in praise. In the upper room they were Tarrying in one accord, with praise, when the Holy Ghost came upon them..
I hope I pray that this title today will be a wake-up call to you to continue to tarry, to continue to confront every opposition that has come against God’s plans and purposes for your life and those things that God has clearly given you clear instructions concerning them. That you will arise and take hold, as you Mount up with wings as eagl..you shall run and not be wary and you shall walk and not faith in Jesus name, amen Isaiah 30:41
