A Story that Cries Out for Prayer: The Forgotten Fires of Oceania
Many know Oceania for its beauty—turquoise waters, coral reefs, and gentle island cultures. But hidden beneath its postcard exterior lies a cry that heaven cannot ignore.
In 2019, wildfires ravaged Australia with such fury that they were visible from space. Entire ecosystems burned, and indigenous communities—already struggling for identity and survival—were displaced. Meanwhile, in Papua New Guinea, one of the poorest nations in the region, children still die from preventable diseases, and many live in remote villages cut off from modern education, health, or hope.
The Pacific Islands, like Tuvalu and Kiribati, are literally drowning. Climate change is swallowing their homes, inch by inch. Elders gather in prayer huts, asking, “Does anyone hear our cry?”
Drug use and suicide rates, especially among indigenous youth in Australia and New Zealand, are rising. Spirits of addiction, depression, and historical trauma whisper, “There is no future.”
Yet—a remnant prays. In secret places, revival is stirring. Prophets from the islands say, “A wave is coming. A spiritual tsunami that will begin in the smallest islands and sweep across the nations.”
But it won’t come…
Until someone prays.
Until someone fasts.
Until someone says, “Here I am, Lord—send me to stand in the gap.”
Why We Fast and Pray for Nations

Fasting is not a ritual—it is a weapon. A holy amplifier that sharpens our cry and aligns us with God’s heart. Through fasting, we humble ourselves to discern heaven’s agenda and shift the spiritual atmosphere over nations.

Set aside time today to fast (as led—full fast, Daniel fast, partial fast). Gather your family, prayer group, or just your own voice—and cry out for the people of Oceania.
