Title: Perfect Call – What is God’s SPECIFIC call for my life? What is my SPECIFIC purpose in life? WHERE or How do I fit into God’s agenda? WHEN and HOW do I START? What is the NEXUS between my VOCATION and my MINISTRY?
Friends, many are asking – What is God’s SPECIFIC call for my life? What is my SPECIFIC purpose in life? WHERE or How do I fit into God’s agenda? WHEN and HOW do I START? What is the NEXUS between my VOCATION and my MINISTRY? and much, much, more questions begging for answers daily.
Many are not finding fulfilment both in ministry and in their vocation or secular work because many have not given the desired attention and work effort required to finding the SPECIFIC call of God for their lives.
Before I continue,

Messages from other messengers in the body of Christ concerning repentance
*Continuation:*
Yes, there is a general call for all believers to go and bear fruits that will remain but in what area can the desired fruitfulness be found? Some of us are doing guess work with God’s work…
So many will be shocked on the day of accounting that they served where God has not allotted them to because some man or woman or servant of God or General Overseer (GO) told them to do this or that.. Is your GO the one who died for you?
Is he or she the owner of the harvest or the labourers?
Many don’t know where to start, when to start, or how to start, especially when they know what the call is.
I am here today by the help of the Holy Spirit to bring some nuggets that can help you with these question or some of these questions leveraging the lives of the apostles, my own life and the lives of countless others..but more importantly, listening to the still small voice of the Spirit of God in your heart when you delibrately decide to slow down by silencing the noise in and around you.
I start by bringing you the following scriptures for *MEDITATION and CONTEMPLATION*
Galatians 2:8
Amplified Bible, Classic Edition
*8 For He Who motivated and fitted Peter and worked effectively through him for the mission to the circumcised, motivated and fitted me and worked through me also for [the mission to] the Gentiles*
*How on earth can Paul be so bold to make this assertion?*
Was it because there was vacancy for a Gentile preachers or was it because they really needed to expand and because Paul had nothing to do at that time that they decided to send him to the Gentiles? No
The answer is here in this scripture spoken to Ananias by the Spirit of Jesus Christ Himself who knew where He needed Paul to function before Paul became a Christian:
Acts 9:10-16
Amplified Bible, Classic Edition
10 Now there was in Damascus a disciple named Ananias. The Lord said to him in a vision, Ananias. And he answered, Here am I, Lord.
11 And the Lord said to him, Get up and go to the street called Straight and ask at the house of Judas for a man of Tarsus named Saul, for behold, he is praying [there].
12 And he has seen in a vision a man named Ananias enter and lay his hands on him so that he might regain his sight.
13 But Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard many people tell about this man, especially how much evil and what great suffering he has brought on Your saints at Jerusalem;
14 Now he is here and has authority from the high priests to put in chains all who call upon Your name.
15 But the Lord said to him, Go, for this man is a chosen instrument of Mine to bear My name before the Gentiles and kings and the descendants of Israel;
16 For I will make clear to him how much he will be afflicted and must endure and suffer for My name’s sake.
Well, some of you will say, “I am not Paul, I didn’t have such a dramatic salvation experience like Paul.”
I come to tell you today that the principles are the same. The Spirit of God determines your call – not anyone or anything else. They might point you in a direction to go but the responsibility is on you to take time out and nail it down.. Paul went to Arabia in isolation for 3 years to nail his down despite Ananias message to him at his conversion and baptism – Galatians 1:17
Let’s return to the foundation of all things to begin to develop a principle upon which to build our finding God’s purpose.
Let’s look into that by looking at the following scriptures:
“The LORD God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being” (Genesis 2:7). The supreme Creator of heaven and earth did two things in creating man. First, He formed him from the very dust of the ground, and, second, He breathed His own breath into the nostrils of Adam.
This distinguished man from all of God’s other creatures.
God leaned over and “breathed” His own “breath of life” into the man’s nostrils; God is the Source of life, and He directly placed life within man. This breath of life is seen again in John 20:22, as Jesus imparts new life to His disciples.
What is the breath of God? It is the life and power of God, given to man to animate him. The Hebrew word for spirit is ruach, which means “wind, breath, air, spirit.” The life of God lives on and on; the immaterial part of man was designed to live eternally.
John in the introductory part of John gospel, said this about God and Jesus and you being the light of the world:
John 1:1-5
Amplified Bible, Classic Edition
1 In the beginning [before all time] was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself.
2 He was present originally with God.
3 All things were made and came into existence through Him; and without Him was not even one thing made that has come into being.
4 In Him was Life, and the Life was the Light of men.
5 And the Light shines on in the darkness, for the darkness has never overpowered it [put it out or absorbed it or appropriated it, and is unreceptive to it].
Some will say, “John was too emotional and just made it up.”
Let’s then look at Genesis 1:26 written thousands of years before John was born.
Genesis 1:26
Amplified Bible, Classic Edition
26 God said, Let Us [Father, Son, and Holy Spirit] make mankind in Our image, after Our likeness, and let them have complete authority over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the [tame] beasts, and over all of the earth, and over everything that creeps upon the earth.
In the same scriptures, the bible, God said to Prophet Jeremiah in Jeremiah 23:24
“Can a man hide himself in hiding places So I do not see him?” declares the Lord. “Do I not fill the heavens and the earth?” declares the Lord.*
How then does God fill the heavens and the earth at the same time?
Let’s hear from the wisest man who ever lived in
Proverbs 20:27
Amplified Bible, Classic Edition
27 The spirit of man [that factor in human personality which proceeds immediately from God] is the lamp of the Lord, searching all his innermost parts.
You see from this scripture above that your spirit is an extension of God’s Spirit on earth apart from Him manifesting throughout the universe because God is Spirit. Jesus said this in
John 4:24
Amplified Bible, Classic Edition
24 God is a Spirit (a spiritual Being) and those who worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth (reality).
And God is love and if our assignment must be discerned, it most be discerned in love.. Your assignment will be a love affair to a people:
So, the only way to find out what you are here for is to find out from a loving God through His Spirit in you. Once you start discerning correctly, the peace of God will flood your heart like the intensity of thousand sun..
Let’s read this about discerning the assignment and how this relate to love for others in
1 John 4:7-21
English Standard Version
God Is Love
7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. 8 Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. 9 In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. 10 In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12 No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us.
13 By this we know that we abide in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit. 14 And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. 15 Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. 16 So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. 17 By this is love perfected with us, so that we may have confidence for the day of judgment, because as he is so also are we in this world. 18 There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love. 19 We love because he first loved us. 20 If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot[a] love God whom he has not seen. 21 And this commandment we have from him: whoever loves God must also love his brother.
So, your assignment is not about you ..The assignment will give you satisfaction, a fulfilment, loads of pains often… but it is not about you.. you have to die to your flesh and your desires to fulfill your assignment.
Luke 9:23
Amplified Bible, Classic Edition
23 And He said to all, If any person wills to come after Me, let him deny himself [[a]disown himself, [b]forget, lose sight of himself and his own interests, [c]refuse and give up himself] and take up his cross daily and follow Me [[d]cleave steadfastly to Me, conform wholly to My example in living and, if need be, in dying also].
This one basic requirement of dying daily is the key to finding, discerning and fulfilling your assignment your purpose in life – there is no other way!!!
You ask, “how then do I translate this to my vocation?”
Ask Daniel, His friends, Joseph, Moses, Nehemiah and others ..they were not working in temples or church or Ministry but demonstrated the sacrificial dying life and learned where they were stationed.. read this
Daniel 1:8
Amplified Bible, Classic Edition
8 But Daniel determined in his heart that he would not defile himself by [eating his portion of] the king’s rich and dainty food or by [drinking] the wine which he drank; therefore he requested of the chief of the eunuchs that he might [be allowed] not to defile himself.
What of His friends concerning bowing to other God’s?
We read
Daniel 3:15-18
Amplified Bible, Classic Edition
15 Now if you are ready when you hear the sound of the horn, pipe, lyre, trigon, harp, dulcimer or bagpipe, and every kind of music to fall down and worship the image which I have made, very good. But if you do not worship, you shall be cast at once into the midst of a burning fiery furnace, and who is that god who can deliver you out of my hands?
16 Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego answered the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, it is not necessary for us to answer you on this point.
17 If our God Whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, He will deliver us out of your hand, O king.
18 But if not, let it be known to you, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the golden image which you have set up!
What of Joseph in Portiphar’s house?
Read the account in Genesis 39:1-7
That earned him a jail sentence
What of Moses in the palace where he got his first training as a leader?
We read
Hebrews 11:24-26
Common English Bible
24 By faith Moses refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter when he was grown up. 25 He chose to be mistreated with God’s people instead of having the temporary pleasures of sin. 26 He thought that the abuses he suffered for Christ were more valuable than the treasures of Egypt, since he was looking forward to the reward.
Your assignment and your vocation
Your vocation will always prepare you for your assignment which could be in the vocation you do right now or outside your vocation to a ministry that you are not paid to function in.
Who paid Jesus to die for you? Who paid Paul or Peter, James or John and countless others through the ages…?
The love of God is self sacrificial love for others ….
Your assignment may have pay but if it is the assignment, the effort you put into it will be beyond pay… because there will be a deep element of sacrificial love involved that goes beyond pay.
My Story
As a young man still in school, I wanted to find out how signal travel through the air. .. I trained in school, worked in the secular world for over 20 years working in the area of signal traveling through the air through telecommunications and IT. I could keep going in that job without pay because I found answer to how signal travel through the air and was fulfilled that people could talk to each other without wires. Little did I know that the Lord will ask me to use the internet to spread the gospel in 2003 at the earlier stages of internet.
Today, we have over 2 million christian contents on otakada.org put up without pay and we are reaching people for Christ beyond borders without pay…
The next details came at point where He asked me to pray for His church and leaders and at the end, He told me what I should be praying about…that they might be one…John 17:21…an extension of His prayer for the church..
But it took listening to His Spirit in me. It took times of separation in prayer and fasting to nail down the specifics. .
If you don’t hear anything, listen to your heart…be still and listen to your heart..that is where His Spirit in you is..BUT by all means, keep serving wherever and whatever your hand finds to do…in taking those steps, God Spirit in you will bring further clarity…
