Acts 12:5–9 (NKJV)
Peter was therefore kept in prison, but constant prayer was offered to God for him by the church.
And when Herod was about to bring him out, that night Peter was sleeping, bound with two chains between two soldiers; and the guards before the door were keeping the prison.
Now behold, an angel of the Lord stood by him, and a light shone in the prison; and he struck Peter on the side and raised him up, saying, “Arise quickly!” And his chains fell off his hands.
Then the angel said to him, “Gird yourself and tie on your sandals”; and so he did. And he said to him, “Put on your garment and follow me.”
So he went out and followed him, and did not know that what was done by the angel was real, but thought he was seeing a vision.

Acts 12:5–11 (MSG – Context for clarity)
All the time that Peter was under heavy guard in the jailhouse, the church prayed for him most strenuously.
Then the time came for Herod to bring him out for public trial. That night even though Peter was shackled to two soldiers, one on either side, and there were guards at the door keeping their eyes on the place, Peter slept like a baby.
Suddenly there was an angel at his side and light flooding the room. The angel shook Peter and got him up. “Hurry!” he said.
The handcuffs fell off his wrists.
The angel said, “Get dressed. Put on your shoes.”
Peter did it.
“Throw your coat over your shoulders and follow me.”
Peter followed him, but didn’t believe it was really an angel. He thought he was seeing things.

Luke 10:19 (NKJV)
“Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”

Luke 10:18–20 (MSG – Context for clarity)
Jesus said, “I know. I saw Satan fall, a bolt of lightning out of the sky.
See what I’ve given you? Safe passage as you walk on snakes and scorpions, and protection from every assault of the enemy. Nothing will hurt you.
All the same, the great triumph is not in your authority over evil, but in God’s authority over you and presence with you. Not what you do for God, but what God does for you—that’s the agenda for rejoicing.”

Prayer Watches

6am Lord, as earnest prayer was made for Peter, let chains fall from every captive appointed for kingdom purpose.

9am I decree supernatural release over those imprisoned by fear, addiction, witchcraft, error, and spiritual oppression.

12pm Let angelic intervention arise in situations where human help has failed and darkness thinks it has prevailed.

3pm Every gate of iron resisting divine advancement, open of your own accord before the power of God.

6pm I trample upon serpents, scorpions, and all the power of the enemy; nothing shall by any means prevail against God’s decree.

9pm Father, wake sleeping destinies and lead Your people out of invisible prisons into liberty and assignment.

12am Every chain forged in secret places against me, my family, and the Church, break now in the name of Jesus.

3am Let the testimony of miraculous deliverance multiply, and let the Church know again the ministry of angelic assistance.

You can combine all of these prayers at once—for example at 12 midnight, morning prayers, 12 noon, and 6 pm prayers. You are not restricted to these time frames. We encourage breaking of fast with communion, but it is not mandatory.
