HOW TO PRAY THE PSALMS PROPHETICALLY

*From Reading God’s Word to Declaring God’s Word*

Many believers faithfully read the Psalms, yet few have been taught how to pray them prophetically. In this short teaching, I demonstrate a simple but powerful way to move from merely reading Scripture to actively proclaiming it over your life, your family, your work, and our community of believers.

The Psalms are not simply historical songs; they are living, prophetic declarations inspired by the Holy Spirit. When we pray them in faith, we are not trying to persuade God to act. Rather, we are agreeing with what He has already spoken and enforcing His promises through the authority of Jesus Christ.

The foundation of this teaching is Psalm 91, Psalm 118, and Revelation 12:11.

One of the keys is learning to declare God’s Word in the language of faith. Instead of speaking only in future expectation, we proclaim God’s promises as present realities because of what Christ has already accomplished.

For example:

Instead of saying:

«”He shall cover me with His feathers…”»

We declare:

«”He covers me with His feathers, and under His wings I take refuge.”»

Instead of saying:

«”Surely He shall deliver me…”»

We proclaim:

«”Surely He delivers me from every snare and every pestilence.”»

Instead of saying:

«”The Lord shall give His angels charge over me…”»

We declare:

«”The Lord gives His angels charge over me to keep me in all my ways.”»

This is not changing Scripture; it is personally appropriating the promises of God through faith.

We begin every declaration by standing upon the finished work of Christ:

«”By the authority in the name of Jesus Christ, and by the blood of our everlasting covenant…”»

This is rooted in Revelation 12:11:

«”They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.”»

Our testimony is God’s Word spoken back to Him in faith.

One declaration I encourage every believer to make repeatedly from Psalm 118:17 is:

«”I die not, but live and declare the works of the Lord.”»

Pray it deliberately. Pray it from the depth of your spirit. Pray it until faith rises within you. Likewise, pray:

«”Save now, O Lord. Send now prosperity.” (Psalm 118:25)»

Not as empty repetition, but as heartfelt agreement with God’s purposes for your life.

Throughout this teaching I also explain why our prayers should never be casual. God listens to the heart before He listens to our words. True intercession comes from conviction, faith, and wholehearted agreement with His promises. We are not merely asking—we are standing upon His covenant.

I encourage you to listen to the full recording, open your Bible, and pray through Psalm 91, Psalm 118, and Revelation 12:11 for yourself. Personalise the Scriptures. Declare them over every area of your life. Pray them over your household. Pray them over fellow believers. Pray them over the nations.

As God’s Word goes forth from your mouth, believe according to Isaiah 55:11 that it will not return empty but will accomplish the purpose for which He has sent it.

May the Lord surround you with His divine protection, establish the work of your hands, grant you long life to fulfil His purposes, and cause you to walk in victory through the blood of the Lamb and the word of your testimony.

Kindly set aside time to pray and fast as the Holy Spirit leads you. Proclaim God’s Zoe life, divine protection, and preservation over yourself, your entire household, and our community of believers, using Psalm 91, Psalm 118, and Revelation 12:11 as your foundation.

Pray that every one of us will fulfill the full measure of the days God has appointed for us, accomplish the purposes for which He created us, and prosper in every good work He has entrusted into our hands. May the Lord establish and bless the work of our hands, in Jesus’ mighty name.

Please take this prayer assignment seriously. This is a time to stand in faith, speak God’s Word, and remain steadfast in His promises.
