Introduction

The Great Exchange For Service – intercession Part 10 of 6 – Compete or Complement – Which side are you? The World Says Compete, God says Complement – Team Work – Language of unity

Dear Brethren, welcome to our 10 of 6thseries dealing with division in body of Christ necessitated by the spirit of competition.

God is calling us to complement one another not to compete with one another. He is calling us to unity in diversity and not uniformity. Our heavenly Father is calling us to operate in our office, where we have strength and ask for help from others who have strength we don’t have. Asking us to reach out to one another for the work of ministry. He is aware of the fact that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us but He knows we are not expert in everything. God is asking us to observe how He operates so we can operate the way He operates.

The Father, the Son and the Holy Sprit are one. The Father is not The Son, The Son is not the Holy Spirit, yet they operate and function as one.The Body is not the Spirit, or is the Spirit the mind but in this part of eternity, all three must work together so we can be a complete human being. The man is not the woman, neither is the woman the man but God said, they are one. God is interested in who we are and also interested in what we do with who we are.

Let us dig into the scriptures and see team work at play in the operation and dealing of our heavenly Father so that we can begin to earnestly reach out to our other brothers and sister in different Christian groups, fellowships, churches and mission organizations to equip each other to do the work of ministry He has called all of us to so that we can reach out to the lost in a very effective and efficient way thereby speeding up His return and then the end will come..

Genesis 1: 1,2,26,27

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.[a] The earth was formless and empty, and darkness covered the deep waters. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters.

26 Then God said, “Let us make human beings[b] in our image, to be like us.They will reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the livestock, all the wild animals on the earth,[c] and the small animals that scurry along the ground.”

27 So God created human beings[d] in his own image.
In the image of God he created them;
male and female he created them.

Genesis 2:18

18 Then the Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper who is just right for him.”

24 This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.

John 10:30 New Living Translation (NLT)

30 The Father and I are one.”

Matthew 19:5 New Living Translation (NLT)

And he said, “‘This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.

John 14: 8-17

Philip said, “Lord, show us the Father, and we will be satisfied.”

Jesus replied, “Have I been with you all this time, Philip, and yet you still don’t know who I am? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father! So why are you asking me to show him to you? 10 Don’t you believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words I speak are not my own, but my Father who lives in me does his work through me. 11 Just believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me. Or at least believe because of the work you have seen me do.

12 “I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father. 13 You can ask for anything in my name, and I will do it, so that the Son can bring glory to the Father. 14 Yes, ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it!

15 “If you love me, obey[d] my commandments. 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate,[e] who will never leave you. 17 He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. The world cannot receive him, because it isn’t looking for him and doesn’t recognize him. But you know him, because he lives with you now and later will be in you.[f]

John 17:21 New Living Translation (NLT)

21 I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one—as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me.

1 Corinthians 12 New Living Translation (NLT)

12 Now, dear brothers and sisters,[a] regarding your question about the special abilities the Spirit gives us. I don’t want you to misunderstand this. You know that when you were still pagans, you were led astray and swept along in worshiping speechless idols. So I want you to know that no one speaking by the Spirit of God will curse Jesus, and no one can say Jesus is Lord, except by the Holy Spirit.

There are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but the same Spirit is the source of them all. There are different kinds of service, but we serve the same Lord. God works in different ways, but it is the same God who does the work in all of us.

A spiritual gift is given to each of us so we can help each other. To one person the Spirit gives the ability to give wise advice[b]; to another the same Spirit gives a message of special knowledge.[c] The same Spirit gives great faith to another, and to someone else the one Spirit gives the gift of healing. 10 He gives one person the power to perform miracles, and another the ability to prophesy. He gives someone else the ability to discern whether a message is from the Spirit of God or from another spirit. Still another person is given the ability to speak in unknown languages,[d] while another is given the ability to interpret what is being said. 11 It is the one and only Spirit who distributes all these gifts. He alone decides which gift each person should have.

12 The human body has many parts, but the many parts make up one whole body. So it is with the body of Christ. 13 Some of us are Jews, some are Gentiles,[e] some are slaves, and some are free. But we have all been baptized into one body by one Spirit, and we all share the same Spirit.[f]

14 Yes, the body has many different parts, not just one part. 15 If the foot says, “I am not a part of the body because I am not a hand,” that does not make it any less a part of the body.16 And if the ear says, “I am not part of the body because I am not an eye,” would that make it any less a part of the body? 17 If the whole body were an eye, how would you hear? Or if your whole body were an ear, how would you smell anything?

18 But our bodies have many parts, and God has put each part just where he wants it. 19 How strange a body would be if it had only one part! 20 Yes, there are many parts, but only one body. 21 The eye can never say to the hand, “I don’t need you.” The head can’t say to the feet, “I don’t need you.”

22 In fact, some parts of the body that seem weakest and least important are actually the most necessary. 23 And the parts we regard as less honorable are those we clothe with the greatest care. So we carefully protect those parts that should not be seen, 24 while the more honorable parts do not require this special care. So God has put the body together such that extra honor and care are given to those parts that have less dignity. 25 This makes for harmony among the members, so that all the members care for each other. 26 If one part suffers, all the parts suffer with it, and if one part is honored, all the parts are glad.

27 All of you together are Christ’s body, and each of you is a part of it. 28 Here are some of the parts God has appointed for the church:

first are apostles,
second are prophets,
third are teachers,
then those who do miracles,
those who have the gift of healing,
those who can help others,
those who have the gift of leadership,
those who speak in unknown languages.

29 Are we all apostles? Are we all prophets? Are we all teachers? Do we all have the power to do miracles? 30 Do we all have the gift of healing? Do we all have the ability to speak in unknown languages? Do we all have the ability to interpret unknown languages? Of course not! 31 So you should earnestly desire the most helpful gifts.

But now let me show you a way of life that is best of all.

CONCLUSION:

The fact of the matter is that not one ministry, not one human being, not one church, it does not matter if there are 1 billion members can claim to have all that it takes to reach the harvest field. We need to reach out within our local teams and outside our teams to carry out the assignment the Lord has graciously given unto us to accomplish.

Reach out today beyond your comfort zone in love.

Prayer: Dear Lord God, we pray today for your body of believers spread around the whole wide world. Lord, we speak to the spirit of competition that has invaded your body of believers, we resist this spirit and command it out by the authority in the name of Jesus Christ and we call forth the spirit of team work in unity of spirit and love beyond boundaries in Jesus name, amen
