Enough is Enough to Captivity of Satan and Welcome to the Freedom in Christ – Can Christians be demonized? The Lies the Captor, Satan Sells to keep many Christians in captivity through Ignorance. How to discover their presence in your life and dispel them + True story from a top congressional aids testimony of guided self-deliverance Part 4
Dear brothers and Sisters, this is part 4 of Enough is Enough to captivity of Satan and welcome to the freedom in Christ Jesus.
In part 3, we explored our daily declaration prayers which serve as an engine that drives the freedom in Christ Jesus via this link
You can find the audio rendition via this link: https://www.otakada.org/100-audio-daily-biblical-declaration-to-supercharge-for-360-degrees-of-healing-deliverance-and-restoration-in-all-facet-of-your-life/
In this series, we are raising an army of warriors to engage the enemy on the frontlines and deliver captives into freedom in Christ on three levels – The Salvation of the spirit which is called born again, Salvation of the soul, which is called deliverance and salvation of our bodies which is called healing.
It is a do it yourself strategy in a distributed framework and the Lord Jesus Christ is our Commander in Chief. Our job is to equip you to engage. To free yourself, your loved ones and others within your circle. Our aim is to wake up that sleeping giant in every believer and to get you to learn the mindset of a warrior on the battlefield and engage in successful campaign without taking casualties in Jesus name.
You must understand that “The best defense is a good offense”, an adage that has been applied to many fields of endeavor, including games and military combat. It is also known as the strategic offensive principle of war.
If you pay a closer look at Ephesians 6 beginning from the 12 verse, you will quickly see that God did not provide any armor for your back because He expects us to engage and not disengage at any point in time. There is no room for run way soldiers or running to fight again because the battle has already been won in the heavenlies. Ours is to use our authority and the power given to us through the resident Holy Spirit to enforce that victory because the enemy will always want to step his boundary. Testing the waters to see if we are ignorant. Unfortunately, so many of us are ignorant to the devices of the evil one.
Read this:
1 Peter 5:7-9
Amplified Bible
7 casting all your cares [all your anxieties, all your worries, and all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares about you [with deepest affection, and watches over you very carefully]. 8 Be sober [well balanced and self-disciplined], be alert and cautious at all times. That enemy of yours, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion [fiercely hungry], seeking someone to devour. 9 But resist him, be firm in your faith [against his attack—rooted, established, immovable], knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being experienced by your brothers and sisters throughout the world. [You do not suffer alone.]
You can see in these verses that Satan is fiercely hungry to devour us, to eat us alive for lunch, dinner, and supper. To confront this type of enemy, you need the following as we have highlighted before as in A, B, C, D, E, F and G. I must emphasize that this prayer is not for everyone. The select few will prequalify themselves for enrolment by these 7 attributes. They are as follows:
- Availability (Spirit, soul and body)
- Boldness
- Compassion for others
- Determination
- Earnest Love
- Fiery Anger
- Great Hunger
If you don’t have these attributes as minimum ingredients, it will be impossible to wage a successful campaign because all the above ingredients need to be mixed together to produce the kind of mustard seed faith to bring about a change because God feeds hungry people, not cold or lukewarm children be it in healing, deliverance and restoration within and without.
The spoils are ready for collecting but a mustard seed, consistent faith is required to collect them into our experience.
Today, we look at Enough is Enough to Captivity of Satan and Welcome to the Freedom in Christ – Can Christians be demonized? The Lies the Captor, Satan sells to keep many Christians in Captivity through Ignorance. How to discover their presence in your life and Dispel them + True story from a top congressional aids testimony of guided self-deliverance part 4. We will be looking at the lies satan sells to keep many bound by exposing him.
Evil spirits or demons are, according to my understanding, the lower echelon of the “spiritual hosts of wickedness” (Ephesians 6:12) that satan directs against humanity. They have three main purposes assigned to them by satan:
1. first to torment and afflict us;
2. second, to keep us from knowing Christ as Savior;
and failing that, third,
3. to keep us from serving Christ effectively.
In answering the question on can Christians be demonized? Yes, Christians can get demonized starting with external influence on the mind, partial possession where they partially take over the mind and full dominion where the person possessed loses free will.
The gain access to us when we open the door of Bitterness, Unforgiveness, Resentment, Pride and Rebellion etc, which plague Christians a lot, giving the enemy a foothold and a room, a dwelling place in our minds.
The Holy Spirit will dwell in a vessel that is not totally clean, provided that He has been given access to the central, controlling area of human personality: the heart.
The teaching that every area of a person’s life must be totally clean before the Holy Spirit will indwell him may produce one of two undesirable consequences. It may deter some sincere believers from seeking the infilling of the Holy Spirit, since they say to themselves, I’ll never be able to reach that standard. Or this kind of teaching may pressure others who have received the baptism of the Holy Spirit into a form of self-righteous hypocrisy. Their reasoning goes something like this: I must have been perfect to have received the Holy Spirit, so now I’ve got to go on being perfect all the time. The result is a make-believe Christian lifestyle. Such people still lose their tempers but now they call it righteous indignation. They still criticize their minister or their fellow Christians but they call it discernment. They still overindulge their physical appetites but they justify it by saying, “All things are lawful.”
Dealing with sin is a life-and-death struggle. It is not shameful to acknowledge that sin is still at work in our lives. On the contrary, our great danger lies in refusing to acknowledge it, which leaves us unprepared to resist temptations when they do come. If the Holy Spirit were to wait until we are perfect to take up His dwelling within us, it would be like a professor saying to his students, “I’ll start teaching you when you have passed your exams.” His students would respond, “But professor, that’s not what we need! We need you to start teaching us now, so we’ll learn what we need to pass our exams.” It is now that we need the Holy Spirit, so that we may have His help available to us continually to overcome the power of evil and to attain to God’s standard of holiness. One particular area of conflict in which we need the Holy Spirit’s help is in dealing with demons.
The Holy Spirit does not withhold His help if He discerns that there are demons within us. On the contrary, He sees our need more clearly than we do ourselves, and He empowers us to expel them. Because He has compassion on us, He is willing to take up His dwelling within us, and to work with us to establish Christ’s victory over all the power of the enemy. Our progress depends on the degree to which we cooperate with the Holy Spirit within us.
Let me emphasize once again: The Holy Spirit does not come to indwell us because we are already perfect. He comes to help us so that we may become perfect. Certainly, the Holy Spirit will not help us in our struggle with demons if we intend to continue living in sin. But if we recognize our sins and sincerely repent, He will fight with us against the demons that enslave us. With His help we will be able to expel them and be set free.
Let’s look at the story below to give credence to the fact that born again, spirit filled Christians can be a habitation for demons as we give them room in our lives through openings we willfully create
Testimony of Top Congressional Aid delivered from demons through guided Self deliverance as told by Derek Prince:
In the testimony that follows, a congressional aide in Washington, D.C., speaks frankly of her personal struggles:
I was baptized in the Spirit about seven years ago. In late June of last year, in a church in Washington, D.C.,I received an instant healing of nerve deafness. Then in August my doctor confirmed that I was healed of cysts and tumors in the breasts. I was top staff member for a Congressman and, while he personally was thrilled with my experience of healing, my testimony was not well received in the political circles in which I moved. In September I resigned from my job and spent the next few months resting and taking time with the Lord.
Then in mid-December I became depressed and despondent. The first week of January was horrible! One day I lost my temper. I was here all alone, and it related to a most trivial matter. I realized instantly the sin I had committed-anger. And as I tried to pray for forgiveness in English, I felt choked … not from emotions, but a distinct pressure on my throat-a very real physical force. A friend suggested that I might need deliverance. So I bought your tapes dealing with deliverance and demonology.
I have always shied away from anything concerning spirits, demons, ghosts and what-have-you, believing that if I left them alone, they would surely leave me alone. I just did not want any truck with spirits and demons! Still, I listened to your tapes on deliverance. I had my Bible on the table and kept pace as you followed through the Scriptures. At the end of the tape, when you gave the instructions to your class, I decided to follow also. Then you started the prayer for deliverance, but the tape ended abruptly-and almost the last thing you said on the tape is, “Remember, Jesus is your Deliverer. “I did not know what to expect or what to do. So my prayer to the Lord was that I didn’t know what to do, but that since He was my Deliverer, I was committing myself completely to Him.
I named those things not of the Lord that I felt were evil and sinful and which I did not want to be part of me-resentment, unforgiveness, doubts, anxieties, fears, etc. As I have said, I didn’t know what to expect. Within a very few minutes, not more than two or three, I began to heave and gag in the most desperate kind of way. After about ten minutes or so, I felt that my abdominal region would never be the same! But I did not feel or believe that I was completely released.
Then I asked the demons or spirits to name themselves and I commanded them to come out. This did not happen. Why, I don’t know. Then I asked the Lord to tell me if there were more, and what the names were, so I could ask deliverance from them. The first one was suicide, and the force was something terrific. I felt it all the way to the top of my head. I felt some release, but not completely. I asked the Lord to tell me if there were more-and I was told it was the deaf spirit. The deliverance of that was fantastic! It lasted longer than anything else, and the force actually pulled my abdomen to my back, and I physically felt the violent uprooting of my stomach, and in this also I felt the pressure in my head. I am completely released, and ever since have known such a marvelous peace.
What are the characteristics Activities to help us identify them in lives?
We stated earlier that they have three main purposes assigned to them by satan: first to torment and afflict us; second, to keep us from knowing Christ as Savior; and failing that, third, to keep us from serving Christ effectively. In accomplishing these purposes, demons are normally invisible. They cannot be perceived by human eyes. We can, however, recognize their presence and activity in the same way that we recognize the presence of the wind. Actually, this is an appropriate comparison because in both Hebrew and Greek, the word for spirit is also the word for wind. We never actually see the wind, but we see the effects the wind produces: dust rising in the streets, clouds sailing across the sky, trees all bending in one direction, rain being driven across our field of vision. All these “signposts” reveal the presence and activity of the wind. So it is with demons. We do not normally see them, but we recognize their presence by certain characteristic actions. Listed below are some of the
most typical of their activities:1. Demons entice. 2. Demons harass. 3. Demons torture. 4. Demons compel. 5. Demons enslave. 6. Demons cause addictions. 7. Demons defile. 8. Demons deceive. 9. Demons attack the physical body. We will expand these in part 5 of the series. But for now, lets look at the warning signals that will signal for us to take action.
WARNING SIGNALS – POSSIBLE NEED FOR DELIVERANCE- THINGS TO LOOK OUT FOR AS POSSIBLE SIGNAL:
The following characteristics merit a closer look when they are pronounced, persistent or recurrent over a period of time, or progressive – tending to become more, rather than less, extreme. Check yourself against these warnings. The following thumbnail descriptions of behavior can be a call for help:
- Confused or disordered thinking: loss of touch with reality – delusions (persistence of erroneous convictions in the face of contrary evidence) – hallucinations; disconnected speech.
- Obsessions: absorption with a subject or idea to the exclusion of others, compulsions, uncontrollable urges.
- Inability to cope: with minor problems, with daily routine.
- Difficulty in making/keeping friends: poor social skills, isolation, withdrawal from society, Toner” lifestyle.
- A pattern of failure across-the-board: at school, at work, in sports, in personal relationships.
- Prolonged or severe depression: suicide threats/attempts.
- Immaturity: infantile behavior (such as bed-wetting), over-dependence on the mother (excessive clinging as a child, continuing dependence in teens and twenties), failure to keep pace with peer group.
- A series of physical ailments which do not run a typical course and/or fail to respond to treatment.
- Neglect of personal hygiene (disheveled and unsanitary surroundings) or exaggerated concern for order and for cleanliness.
- Difficulty adjusting to new people and places.
- Undue anxiety and worry: phobias, feelings of being persecuted.
- Too much or too little sleep.
- Excessive self-centeredness: indifference to other people’s feelings, doings, ideas, lack of sympathy with another’s pain or need.
- Substantial rapid weight gain or loss.
- Muted, “flat” emotions (absence of angry, delighted, sorrowing reactions to stimuli) or inappropriate emotions (sharp, inexplicable mood swings, silliness at serious moments, unpredictable tears).
- Negative self-image and outlook: “inferiority” complex, feelings of worthless- ness.
- Frequent random changes of plans: inability to stick with a job, a school pro- gram, a living arrangement, failure to keep appointments, abide by decisions.
- Extreme aggressiveness (combativeness, hostility, violence, rage) or exaggerated docility (lack of normal competitiveness and self-assertion, refusal to confront, avoidance of argument).
- Unreasonable or irrational risk-taking.
- Lack of zest and enthusiasm: listlessness, sadness, mood habitually “down”, limited or missing sense of humor.
SIX BASIC STEPS TO YOUR DELIVERANCE ARE:
- Identify your problems.
- Forgive, pray and get yourself right with God.
- Break the curses and soul ties on you and your descendants.
- Cast out your demons.
- Pray for healing of your soul and body.
- Discipline your life by changing your way of thinking and acting.
Short Prayer for Self-Deliverance.
“Lord Jesus Christ, I believe You died on the cross for my sins and rose again from the dead. You redeemed me by Your blood and I belong to You, and I want to live for You. I confess all my sins-known and unknown- I’m sorry for them all. I renounce them all. I forgive all others as I want You to forgive me. Forgive me now and cleanse me with Your blood. I thank You for the blood of Jesus Christ which cleanses me now from all sin. And I come to You now as my deliverer. You know my special needs-the thing that binds, that torments, that defiles; that evil spirit, that unclean spirit—I claim the promise of Your word, “Whosoever that calleth on the name of the Lord shall be delivered.” I call upon You now. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, deliver me and set me free. Satan, I renounce you and all your works. I loose myself from you, in the name of Jesus, and I command you to leave me right now in Jesus’ name. Amen!”
Let it come from your heart and see the salvation of the Lord!
