Redemption of Culture

- Focus on Restoration: Rather than just abandoning “sinful” aspects of society, redemption culture seeks to heal and restore, restoring relationships, communities, and systems.
- Creation/Alternative: Some views, such as those discussed on Boundless.org, emphasize “making” new, godly culture rather than just salvaging old, corrupted, or “sinful” culture.
- Separation vs. Engagement: Others, as noted in discussions on Proclaim & Defend, argue that the focus should be on individual redemption rather than trying to transform a fundamentally fallen culture

Revelation 21:24-27
The Message
15-21 The Angel speaking with me had a gold measuring stick to measure the City, its gates, and its wall. The City was laid out in a perfect square. He measured the City with the measuring stick: fifteen hundred miles, its length, width, and height all equal. Using the standard measure, the Angel measured the thickness of its wall: seventy-two yards. The wall was jasper, the color of Glory, and the City was pure gold, translucent as glass. The foundations of the City walls were garnished with every precious gem imaginable: the first foundation jasper, the second sapphire, the third agate, the fourth emerald, the fifth onyx, the sixth carnelian, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth, the twelfth amethyst. The twelve gates were twelve pearls, each gate a single pearl.
21-27 The main street of the City was pure gold, translucent as glass. But there was no sign of a Temple, for the Lord God—the Sovereign-Strong—and the Lamb are the Temple. The City doesn’t need sun or moon for light. God’s Glory is its light, the Lamb its lamp! The nations will walk in its light and earth’s kings bring in their splendor. Its gates will never be shut by day, and there won’t be any night. They’ll bring the glory and honor of the nations into the City. Nothing dirty or defiled will get into the City, and no one who defiles or deceives. Only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life will get in.

The Message
26-28 God spoke: “Let us make human beings in our image, make them
reflecting our nature
So they can be responsible for the fish in the sea,
the birds in the air, the cattle,
And, yes, Earth itself,
and every animal that moves on the face of Earth.”
God created human beings;
he created them godlike,
Reflecting God’s nature.
He created them male and female.
God blessed them:
“Prosper! Reproduce! Fill Earth! Take charge!
Be responsible for fish in the sea and birds in the air,
for every living thing that moves on the face of Earth.”

Earth and everyone in it, sing!
Sing to God—worship God!
2-3 Shout the news of his victory from sea to sea,
Take the news of his glory to the lost,
News of his wonders to one and all!
6am Lord, let the wealth, attention, and influence of culture be redirected toward what honors You.
9am I call forth a new sound and a new witness that declares Your glory among the nations.
12pm Every cultural captivity normalizing darkness, break now under the superior power of the kingdom of God.
3pm Let creators with kingdom conviction occupy stages, studios, galleries, and theaters with authority.
6pm Father, redeem public taste, collective imagination, and national appetite from corruption.
9pm I decree that beauty will no longer be divorced from truth and creativity will no longer be severed from conscience.
12am Let the arts become a field of divine encounter where prodigals turn and seekers behold Your glory.
3am O Lord, invade culture with holy brilliance and make the nations hear a sound of awakening.
📌 NOTE
You can combine all of these prayers at once—for example at 12 midnight, morning prayers, 12 noon, and 6 pm prayers. You are not restricted to these time frames.
We encourage breaking of fast with communion, but it is not mandatory.
