Nuggets of Wisdom

Ask for help. Not because you are weak. But because you want to remain strong –  Too many of us are not living our dreams because we are living our fears.” – Les Brown

Key verses for Today:

Matthew 28:18-20 Amplified Bible (AMP)

18 Jesus came up and said to them, “All authority (all power of absolute rule) in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations [help the people to learn of Me, believe in Me, and obey My words], baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe everything that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always [remaining with you perpetually—regardless of circumstance, and on every occasion], even to the end of the age.”

Galatians 5:13-21 – Message

13-15 It is absolutely clear that God has called you to a free life. Just make sure that you don’t use this freedom as an excuse to do whatever you want to do and destroy your freedom. Rather, use your freedom to serve one another in love; that’s how freedom grows. For everything we know about God’s Word is summed up in a single sentence: Love others as you love yourself. That’s an act of true freedom. If you bite and ravage each other, watch out—in no time at all you will be annihilating each other, and where will your precious freedom be then?

16-18 My counsel is this: Live freely, animated and motivated by God’s Spirit. Then you won’t feed the compulsions of selfishness. For there is a root of sinful self-interest in us that is at odds with a free spirit, just as the free spirit is incompatible with selfishness. These two ways of life are antithetical, so that you cannot live at times one way and at times another way according to how you feel on any given day. Why don’t you choose to be led by the Spirit and so escape the erratic compulsions of a law-dominated existence?

19-21 It is obvious what kind of life develops out of trying to get your own way all the time: repetitive, loveless, cheap sex; a stinking accumulation of mental and emotional garbage; frenzied and joyless grabs for happiness; trinket gods; magic-show religion; paranoid loneliness; cutthroat competition; all-consuming-yet-never-satisfied wants; a brutal temper; an impotence to love or be loved; divided homes and divided lives; small-minded and lopsided pursuits; the vicious habit of depersonalizing everyone into a rival; uncontrolled and uncontrollable addictions; ugly parodies of community. I could go on.

This isn’t the first time I have warned you, you know. If you use your freedom this way, you will not inherit God’s kingdom.

Introduction

Dear brethren, we are starting a new series on discipleship where we are engaging the marketplace directly and pulling up hot questions requiring answers that are scriptural and proffering solutions where possible as Jesus would, using His wisdom thereby. These series on Q&A are going to be long and so we would not put a deadline to it so please stay tuned. Most of the answers will be held up on our website and so you will be receiving shot links back to the website and sometimes on quora.com as well. Kindly share to those you think it will be of benefit to. If you have any question at all from any source, please send it to us at otakada.org and we will be happy to look into them and provide a response as He provides the needed grace.

So, let’s begin responding to the subject title of today – Is there an Online Discipleship Program for men and women struggling With Unwanted Same-Sex Attractions that you can recommend?

Answer: Yes, there is. We also went further to provide a video on the Christian view on Homosexuality.

Our culture and some churches, in the past decade, have taken a supporting and affirming position on homosexuality as a legitimate, biological life, positive way of life. However, many men and women who struggle with same-sex desire believe homosexuality as being outside God’s plan and will for their life and desire a way out….go to the blog page to continue..

Conclusion and prayer.

God has placed us where we are for a reason, for a purpose and for a time such as this. Are we ready to partner with Him to reach souls for Him or are we ready to focus on me, myself and I?  May He find us faithful and commitment to the work of discipleship in the marketplace.

Thank you Lord for helping us by Your grace to make disciples as you have commanded. Help us to be willing as You provide the needed grace and opportunities for discipleship in the marketplace in Jesus name, amen

Shalom!
