How to HEAR His Voice – Day 10 of 40 Prayer and Fasting for church and leadership – Pray to THRUST OUT Labourers into the harvest
Today’s scripture for reading, meditating and Contemplating:
My sheep hear My Voice and I know them and they follow Me (John 10: 27).
Jeremiah 7: 23 the Lord God said, “…Obey My voice and I will be your God, and you shall be My people…that it may be well with you.”

Friends, your ability to hear God’s voice clearly on an ongoing basis set you apart for the master’s selfless use.
It was 18 years ago the Lord commissioned me as one of His intercessors for Church and Leadership. It was 18 years ago, on the 16th of March 2006, I heard very clearly, His voice, saying to me, “Pray for my Church, pray for my leaders. Set apart 40 days every year to pray and fast for my Church and leaders.”
Every assignment I have received ever since, has been about His church and His leaders. Ever since, He has sent me to territories to pray, to carry out prophetic action based on what I hear Him speaking to me.
It was in 2020, I heard Him say, concerning the the Church and Leadership that, “a time of purification has began and to last 3 to 7 years..to 2027. Pray that in those seasons, their hearts will not fail and they will not depart from the faith.”
You cannot bind and loose yourself out of this purification process apportioned for the world. It is worldwide in scope, to test those who are in the earth. To filter the wrong doctrines and lies we have sold to ourselves and believed whole heartedly.
Jesus said, In Mark 9:49, Everyone, will be salted by fire and every sacrifice will be salted with salt.
No fire, no salt. No salt, no, authenticity, no relevance of the church and leaders to our world as we race towards the return of Christ.
God is more interested in the fruit of the Spirit in our lives than the gifts of the Spirit that we so covet and desire in our Churches today. You and I know that we need this fire. If this fire did not come as it is now, the church will go deeper into a dark alley, the likes we have never seen before.
Rather than complain, bind and loose, ask the Lord to do a work in us and through us until He can see His image and likeness in us. So, shall it it be when all is said and done in Jesus name
Jesus, in our reading today in John 18 :12, said, “11 Therefore, Jesus said to Peter, Put the sword [back] into the sheath! The cup which My Father has given Me, shall I not drink it?
Jesus, who had an ongoing, minute by minute, hour by hour, day by day, real time conversion with God, knew that this persecution He was about to go through was a cup of suffering prepared by the Father for Him and so, it was no longer a time to run and hide or a time to bind and loose but a time to go through the process and to tell the devil, “Whatever you want to do, do quickly.”

DO YOU HEAR HIS VOICE? With we have titled, How to hear the voice of God
This is the question every Christian should endeavour to
answer. The answer will immediately reveal who we really
are. The answer will show where our problem really lies.
Jesus said;
My sheep hear My Voice and I know them and they
follow Me (John 10: 27).
Do you hear His voice? Do you hear Him freely and
clearly everyday? If you do, then you are His sheep, if you
don’t, then you are not fully His sheep! Then what are you?
This is where the problem really lies.
This is where many Christians are falling short and yet they don’t seem to know it. The voice of the shepherd is the life of the sheep for it is His voice that directs them to green pastures and to still waters (Psalm 23).
A sheep that doesn’t hear the voice (signals) of the shepherd is really in trouble. That sheep will fall easy prey to the enemies. It may fall into the ditch, it may wander away and get killed by wild beasts and hunters, it will starve and suffer thirst for it doesn’t know the way. This sheep is on its own and can never know peace until it is found and restored back to its shepherd. So is it with the Christian who doesn’t
hear the voice of Jesus.
Jesus is our Shepherd and we are the sheep of His pasture. The number one problem that is in the church today is that of not hearing the voice of the Lord. We don’t hear the voice of Jesus anymore!
We hear the voice of the pastor and the General Overseer
(G.O). We hear the voice of our ‘Mentors’, our spiritual mothers and fathers, but we fail to hear the only voice that would really direct us to life and progress, that is the voice
of Jesus!
This is the major cause of the failures we have in the present-day church. This is one reason why so many Christians have fallen prey to the devil. These ones are like
lost sheep indeed! (See Jeremiah 50: 6-7).
His Voice Leads To Progress
In Jeremiah 7: 23 the Lord God said, “…Obey My voice and I will be your God, and you shall be My people…that it may be well with you.”
Do you see that? God wants it to be well with us. He doesn’t want us to suffer unnecessarily. He wants us to be
happy and to have progress in this life. Our well-being gives
Him joy. But look at the condition. First we have to hear His voice, for we can’t obey if we don’t hear. As we hear and obey His voice, this qualifies us to be His children and He our God! Do you see how important hearing the voice of God is? If we measure by this scripture, you can then see that many Christians are not really Christians. They are church goers and church workers but not true children of God. True children of God should hear the voice of their Father God; that is the standard! (John 10:27, Jeremiah
7:23).
It says if we obey His voice, it shall then be well with us! So, can you now see why things are not going well with many Christians? Because they don’t hear (and don’t obey) the voice of God! You are perhaps in this category too?
You’ve now seen the cause of your problems.
Do You Have Spiritual Ear?
Revelation 2: 7 says, He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches…
Do you hear what the Holy Spirit is saying today? If you don’t then you don’t have an ear. You don’t have the right
ear, the spiritual ear and this is why many are confused. The Holy Spirit is the General Overseer of the entire body of
Christ. Jesus handed the church over to the Holy Spirit, to see to her welfare until He comes to receive her home (John
14:26; 16:7-14).
So the Holy Spirit is our Teacher. He is the One to lead us and teach us the ways of true deliverance and life. He is to teach us all things we need to know and do in this life so as to be successful. As many as are led by Him are the true sons and daughters of God (Romans 8:14).
But how can He lead us and how can we follow someone whose voice we don’t hear? For leading and following involve communication. Here then is the main cause of our present problems and failures.
If we hear His voice, He will then teach us and direct us on the path of life and progress. If we hear and obey His voice, there is no way we can fall into unnecessary troubles or bondage for His voice leads only to life, freedom, progress, perfection.
When the Lord speaks there is light. When we don’t hear His voice we walk in darkness, we get confused. This is the true condition of many Christians today!
Those who want deliverance and progress should therefore seek to get back to personal relationship with the Lord. By so doing they will begin to hear His voice. As we hear and obey His voice deliverance will come to us, for His voice will direct us on how to get out of every bondage. So shall we get into the plans and purposes He has for us in this life. This is how to enjoy perpetual progress in Christ.
To Hear His Voice Is Our Greatest Need
When we hear the voice of Jesus we will never be bound by the devil again nor would we have the need to run about for deliverance and counselling any more.
For instance if you have any problem, all you do is to ask Him for direction. His voice will then direct you on what to do. As you obey the direction, you are at once free from the problem. If you have no money, His voice will direct you on what to do and as you obey, your needs are met. If you are sick, His voice will tell you the cause of the sickness and what you should do. He may tell you that you have sinned in certain ways and need to repent. As you obey, the sickness is removed. If the devil attacks you, His voice will tell you why the attack came, how you opened the door to the enemy. He will also tell you what to do. As you obey, the enemy is destroyed and his oppression ended. When
strange things happen to you, when your circumstances are not favourable, when things are not going on well in your life, His voice will bring comfort and direction to you. His voice will explain the situation to you. He may tell you not to worry, for your faith is being tested. He may tell you that you are paying a price for higher spiritual power and authority and that soon your circumstances will be restored
beautifully again. He may tell you to do one thing or another, or not to do anything at all. As His voice directs, we obey, and as we obey, healing and deliverance and peace and progress returns to us.
That is the beauty of hearing the voice of the Lord. We are travellers in a dark world. His voice is our guiding light.
As He speaks and we hear, light of understanding and direction comes to us at once. Darkness goes, and our confusion and troubles disappear. Hence Psalm 16:11 says He will show us the path of life. He does this for those who hear His voice.
But those who don’t hear His voice cannot receive this directions from the Lord. As a result when a little problem comes up you see them panicking because they don’t know
what to do. Next you see them running about from one man of God to another for “solutions”!
Now the first thing to seek is hearing the voice of Jesus.
This is our greatest asset as Christians. As we hear His voice, every other thing: healing, deliverance, restoration,
progress, will follow, for His voice will direct us to all these.
How To Hear His Voice
Here are practical steps to take.
1. Go to His presence everyday at appointed times. To hear somebody’s voice you have to get close to that person. It is the same with the Lord.
2. In His presence, study discipleship books – that is, books that will show you how to get closer to the Lord. As you study, meditate on Him also.
3. It is not a once and for all affair. You should consciously get close to Him everyday until His voice begins to be regular and clear. At first it may not be clear and distinct.
4. Obey what He directs you. Obedience to the little He has said to you will make Him speak more. But if we disobey the much we have heard we will not hear clearly again. Disobedience shuts the door while obedience opens the door of communication with Him.
5. Check your motive. Are you trying to hear His voice
just for the fun of it, just for you to tell people that you can
now hear? Or are you seeking to hear because you want to
do what He says? Are you willing to follow any direction
His voice will give to you? These are the things the Lord
considers to know who is serious and who is not.
Let us Pray
Now pray and say; Father God, I have gone to Paul and Apollos for so long. Now I have decided to come straight to You. I have received planting and watering over and over again from men of God. Now I have come to You directly for You to give me the increase that I have been looking for. Your servants are good, but they can only plant and water. They cannot cause increase, according to Your word. Receive me Lord, and begin the work of causing increase, progress, deliverance, to come upon my life, in the name of Jesus. Please help me to come to You everyday, to dwell in Your presence and eat at Your table at the appointed time. Help my wondering to come to an end. Now I have found You. Help me to keep to You and to receive from You and never to roam about again. Amen.
