Prayer and Fasting for the Church and Leadership – Day 35 of 40

Ephesians 4:29-32

Passion Translation

29And never let ugly or hateful words come out from your mouth, but instead let your words become beautiful gifts that encourages others: do this by speaking words of grace to help them. 30 The Holy Spirit of God has sealed you in Jesus Christ until you experience your full salvation. So never grieve the Spirit of God or take for granted His Holy influence in your life. 31 Lay aside bitter words, temper tantrums, revenge, profanity, and insults. 32 But instead be kind and affectionate toward one another. Has God graciously forgiven you? Then graciously forgive one another in depths of Christ love

Prayer: Lord Jesus, where You find willingness in us – Your body of believers, cause our WORDS and CONDUCT towards each other become and remain beautiful gifts that encourages them, full of grace, love and not words that grieve Your Holy Spirit in us and in them so that Your love can be seen and experienced as fruits that abide by all as a witness to our relationship with You in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen

Title:  Part 15 – Enough is Enough to Captivity of Satan and Welcome to Freedom in Christ Jesus –  Here This: – God says, “I do nothing outside my CONTRACT(s) with YOU and I have EXIT CLAUSE(s) too!” + How to DEVELOP and APPROPRIATE God kind of FAITH + It is finished, YOU don’t need to PRAY about it, you need to AGREE with His word in FAITH by Kenneth E. Hagin

Friends, during the course of this fast, the Lord kept bringing the words in spoke to me earlier about agreement with Him on any issue outside which He does nothing.  This was impressed upon me again today, so I decided to comb through the scriptures from Genesis to Revelation, asking the Holy Spirit for depth and insight to the words “contracts; agreements; covenants; confessions”

I was able to secure twelve places where agreement was instrumental to the working of God amongst His people and also embedded in those contracts or covenants are exit clauses too. This informs the title of today’s message. Here This: – God says, “I do nothing outside my CONTRACT(s) with YOU and I have EXIT CLAUSE(s) too!” + How to DEVELOP and APPROPRIATE God kind of FAITH + It is finished, YOU don’t need to PRAY about it, you need to AGREE with His word in FAITH by Kenneth E. The Rainbow I saw today!

When I came down from mountain Sanderson to get some water today, the 20th of April 2021, I sited a rainbow – the first for this year as if God was reconfirming the words on covenant to me. I went in to get water and also get my camera, by the time I returned, the rainbow disappeared.  I have taken the liberty to show you the location of the rainbow where it was sited in this picture below, just for emphasis, and that when God speaks to one, He speaks to all because they are divine principles that apply to all His children or creation:

Part 15 - God says, “I do nothing outside my CONTRACT(s) with YOU and I have EXIT CLAUSE(s) too!” + How to DEVELOP and APPROPRIATE God kind of FAITH
Part 15 – God says i do nothing outside my contractual obligations with you cover

See Genesis 8:20-Genesis 9:1-17 reenacted today with this rainbow!

Here are they insights I received and how you and I can appropriate them in our lives work and walk with the Lord.

Some points I got before going down into itemizing these findings for our profit are these:

  • God’s Word is our contract for today. That Word is Jesus Christ that became flesh and everything Jesus said and demonstrated for us was the Word in motion so that we can experience Him because God wants to relate with us just like He did before the fall and to demonstrate His heart of love to His creation. Genesis 1:26; John 1: 1-14; John 6:
  • Jesus is that Word which we enter into an agreement with, by believing in Him through faith in Him and the finished work at the Cross because we broke the covenant in the Garden of Eden with dare consequences – spiritual death and separation from God. John 3:1-21; Genesis 3:1-24; John 6:38-51
  • MAIN Agreement with the Word, the foundation for sub-agreement: This main agreement with Jesus Christ becomes the foundation upon which other sub-agreements can be enacted and consummated by our faith in Christ and His words or promises. John 6:35; Matthew 11:28-29; Luke 4:18-19
  • God is all about FREEDOM and not BONDAGE: So, For every contract or subcontract with the WORD, there is an exit clause with consequences of course. We have the freedom to tell God, “I want out!”. The devil is the one that hold people in bondage. The exit clause is disobedience to the terms of the contract – the WORD. Deut 28:1-68 Revelation 2:1-29; 3:1-22; John 6:60-71
  • The spiritual realm operates on the basis of agreement manifested in the written word and sealed by faith or trust in the Father and the Holy Spirit 1 John 5:7
  • Every contractual agreement rises and falls with the faith or trust in the person who put that contract together. In the physical, so also in the spiritual.

ITEMIZATION on Agreement and Faith:

Why is faith so important in every and all of our contractual agreement with God?

Because, we are told in Hebrews 11:6 (Passion translation) And without faith living within us, it would be impossible to please God. For we come to God in faith knowing that He is real and that He rewards the faith of those who passionately seek Him.

Abraham the father of faith demonstrated this to us and God reckoned this as righteousness.

Genesis 15:6 And Abram believed the LORD, and the LORD counted him as righteous because of his faith.

Faith is so important in God’s kingdom dealing that whatever God has given you through your faith in Him or the faith of another can be lost through doubt. I don’t care if it is healing, deliverance or restoration.  Faith is the channel through which all that God has for you have to flow through. Like a tunnel. Once that faith disappears, the tunnel begins to vanish.

Doubt is like the water that put out the fire of faith and everything that came as a result of the faith that facilitate it in the first place:

Read this

James 1:5-8

The Passion Translation

And if anyone longs to be wise, ask God for wisdom and he will give it! He won’t see your lack of wisdom as an opportunity to scold you over your failures but he will overwhelm your failures with his generous grace.[a] Just make sure you ask empowered by confident faith without doubting that you will receive. For the ambivalent person believes one minute and doubts the next. Being undecided makes you become like the rough seas driven and tossed by the wind. You’re up one minute and tossed down the next. 7–8 When you are half-hearted and wavering it leaves you unstable.[b] Can you really expect to receive anything from the Lord when you’re in that condition?

And this

Matthew 14:28-31

The Passion Translation

28 Peter shouted out, “Lord, if it’s really you, then have me join you on the water!”

29 “Come and join me,”[a] Jesus replied.

So Peter stepped out onto the water and began to walk toward Jesus. 30 But when he realized how high the waves were, he became frightened and started to sink. “Save me, Lord!” he cried out.

31 Jesus immediately stretched out his hand and lifted him up and said, “What little faith you have! Why would you let doubt win?”

Gods mind is clear on or in all His contract with His children that you have all the terms of the agreement. You retain all the benefits you have received as a result of the consummation in faith. But your thought life, can undermine you all the time.

So, how do you and I overcome doubt and build up our faith up?

First, we say, “ Lord, I am sorry for all my doubts concerning the promises in Your word or concerning the terms of the agreement or sub agreement with You Lord God. Forgive me. I repent of for not trusting You by my faithless thoughts, emotions and actions. I receive Your forgiveness which You already provided before I failed You. I now receive POWER, LOVE and SOUND mind  and heart concerning this matter or these set of matters (2 Timothy 1:7)

I receive your God kind of faith and I speak to the situations and circumstance that plague me. Just like You spoke to light BE in creation. I speak to my situation now: I say, “Eyes see in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen. “ Sickness you are rebuked, go now in Jesus name, Amen” Wife come now, Husband come now, Funds come now in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.”

Feed and feast on the word daily. Particularly in the area you want Him to come through for you

In you agreement with God, make a vow like these below to build up faith and recline issues into His hands.

Go into agreement with God..Call it sub agreements like these:-

Lord, I receive my healing now. Thank You because my health is restored and I can serve You better in this and this area. Thank You Lord for this contract that I have now received. With this funds, I can now support your work in this and this area in Jesus name, amen. Thank You Lord for restoring my wayward Son. As You do this, I dedicate him to your service. Lord, thank You for the husband or the wife you have led my way in marital partnership, Lord as I receive this man or this woman, I will do everything within my power as Your grace sustains me to encourage him or her to serve You better and fulfil his or her life purpose in You that You have determined for him or her before the foundation of the world, in Jesus name, amen.

This type of prayers causes faith to rise up because they are selfless prayers as You have made God priority in your request. You will receive confidence in Him so that He can  do His part. We see this principle with Hannah. Hear her in

1 Samuel 1:11-13

International Standard Version

11 Hannah[a] made a vow: “Lord of the Heavenly Armies, if you just look at the misery of your maid servant, remember me, and don’t forget your maid servant. If you give your maid servant a son,[b] then I’ll give him to the Lord[c] for all the days of his life,[d] and a razor is never to touch[e] his head.”

12 As she continued to pray in the Lord’s presence, Eli was watching her mouth. 13 Hannah[f] was praying inwardly.[g] Her lips were quivering, and her voice could not be heard. So Eli thought she was drunk.

Returning to faith, God kind of faith, let us hear some more depth from Kenneth Hagin and remain blessed as you apply the principles to your life in Jesus name, Amen

God kind of faith by Kenneth Hagin

There are two things to notice about the God kind of faith. First, a man believes with his heart. Second, he believes with his words. It isn’t enough just to believe in your heart. In order to get God to work for you, you must believe with your words also. Jesus said, “Whosoever shall say … and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith” (Mark 11:23). This is the unalterable law of faith.

And on the morrow, when they were come from Bethany, he was hungry: And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came if haply he might find any thing thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not yet. And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it.

And in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots. And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursed is withered away. And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. Mark 11:12-14, 20-24

Let us focus our attention on the statement, “Have faith in God,” or as the margin reads, “Have the faith of God.” Greek scholars tell us this should be translated, “Have the God kind of faith.” Jesus demonstrated that He had the God kind of faith. While He was afar off, He saw that the fig tree had leaves. But as He approached it, looking for fruit, He saw that it was barren. Some have questioned why Jesus looked for figs on this tree when it was not time for them to be ripe; it was not their season. However, in that country trees that retained their leaves usually had figs also.

Finding no fruit on the tree, Jesus said, “No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever.”

The next day when Jesus and His disciples passed by again they found the tree dried up from the roots. Amazed, Peter said, “Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursed is withered away.”

It was then that Jesus made the statement, “Have faith in God (have the faith of God, or the God kind of faith). For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.”

After telling His disciples in verse 22 to have the God kind of faith, Jesus went on to explain in verse 23 what this meant: The God kind of faith is the kind of faith in which a man believes with his heart and says with his mouth that which he believes in his heart, and it comes to pass.

Jesus showed that He had that kind of faith, for He believed that what He said would come to pass. He said to the tree, “No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever.”

This is the kind of faith that spoke the world into existence. “Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear” (Hebrews 11:3). How did He do it? God believed that what He said would come to pass. He spoke the word and there was an earth. He spoke into existence the vegetable kingdom. He spoke into existence the animal kingdom. He spoke into existence the heavens as well as the earth, the moon, the sun, the stars and the universe. He said it and it was so. That is the God kind of faith. He believed what He said would come to pass and it did.

The Measure of Faith

Jesus demonstrated the God kind of faith to His disciples, and then He told them that they too had that kind of faith – the faith that a man believes with his heart, says with his mouth what he believes, and it comes to pass.

Someone might say, “I want that kind of faith. I am going to pray that God will give it to me.” However, you don’t need to pray for it – you already have it. “For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith” (Romans 12:3). Notice that Paul wrote this to believers, for he says, “to every man that is among you.” The epistle of Romans was not written to the sinners in the world; it was a letter to Christians. He addresses this letter “to all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints …” (Romans 1:7). And in it he tells them that God has given to “every man the measure of faith.”

Paul also said, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God” (Ephesians 2:8). Paul is saying here that this faith is not of yourself. He was not referring to grace, for everyone knows that grace is of God. He is saying that the faith by which we are saved is not of ourselves. It is not a natural, human faith. It was given to sinners by God. And how did God give the sinner faith to be saved? Romans 10:17 says, “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” In these verses Paul has said that faith (1) is given, (2) is dealt, and (3) cometh.

Romans 10:8 says, “But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach.” The Bible, this message of God, is called the word of faith. Why is it called the word of faith? Because it causes faith to come even into the heart of the unsaved. It causes the kind of faith that spoke the universe into existence to be dealt to our hearts. Faith is given to us through the Word.

Believing and Saying – the Key to Faith

Notice again the words of Romans 10:8, “But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach.” How does this compare with the words of Jesus in Mark 11:23? Paul’s writings to the Romans agree exactly with what Jesus told His disciples when He said, “Whosoever shall say … and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe … shall have whatsoever he saith.” We see here the basic principle inherent in the God kind of faith: believing with the heart and saying it with the mouth. Jesus believed it and He said it. God believed it and He said it, speaking the earth into existence.

Verses 9 and 10 of this same tenth chapter of Romans say, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” A measure of faith is dealt to the sinner through hearing the Word. Then he uses it to create the reality of salvation in his own life.

When Christians are asked, “When were you saved?” They often answer by saying something like, “About nine on the night of July tenth.” They are mistaken, however, for God saved them nearly two thousand years ago. It only became a reality to them when they believed it and confessed it. Salvation belongs to everyone. Every man and woman in this world has a legal right to salvation. Jesus died for the whole world, not just for you and me.

When the truth is preached to the sinner it causes faith to come. When he believes and confesses, he creates the reality of it in his own life by his faith.

Romans 10:13, 14, 17

13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?

17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Just as faith comes from hearing the Word of God, so does anything that we receive from God. The God kind of faith comes by hearing God’s Word. In other words, God causes the God kind of faith to come into the hearts of those who hear. No wonder Jesus said, “take heed therefore how you hear” (Luke 8:18). You cannot let it go in one ear and out the other because that won’t do any good. Faith won’t come. If you act as if the Word of God were some fairy tale, faith will not come. But when you accept it reverently and sincerely, when you act upon it, faith comes.

Paul wrote to the church at Corinth, “We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak” (II Corinthians 4:13). Paul said that we have the same spirit of faith. And what belonged to the church at Corinth belongs to the church today. On no occasion did Paul or any of the apostles ever write to encourage the people to believe; never did they tell them to have faith. Our having to encourage believers to believe or have faith is a result of the Word of God’s having lost its reality to us. We are believers! When our children are away, we don’t have to write to them and say, “Be sure to keep breathing.” They will continue to breathe as long as they are alive. Neither do we have to encourage believers to believe because that is what they are – believers.

How many of us realize that our words dominate us? “Thou art snared with the words of thy mouth …” (Proverbs 6:2). Another version says, “Thou art taken captive with the words of thy mouth.” A young man once told me that he was never whipped until he confessed that he was whipped. One writer put it this way, “You said you could not, and the moment you said it you were whipped.” You said you did not have faith and doubt rose up like a giant and bound you. You are imprisoned with your own words. You talk failure and failure holds you in bondage.

See also  Part 16 - The Power Resident in the Communion + Stop Self Sabotaging efforts and live in peace with one another! True Healing Story - A Curse is Broken!

Defeat and failure do not belong to the child of God. God never made a failure. God made us new creatures. We are not born of the will of the flesh or the will of man, but of the will of God. We are created in Christ Jesus. Failures are man-made. They are made by wrong believing and wrong thinking. I John 4:4 says, “… Greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.” Learn to trust the Greater One that is in you. He is mightier than anything in the world.

God created the universe with words. Words filled with faith are the most powerful things in all the world.

The key to the God kind of faith is believing with the heart and confessing with the mouth. Our lips can make us millionaires or keep us paupers. Our lips can make us victors or keep us captives. We can fill our words with faith or we can fill our words with doubt. We can fill our words with love that will melt the coldest heart, or we can fill our words with hate and poison. We can fill our words with love that will help the discouraged and broken-hearted, with faith that will stir heaven. We can make our words breathe the very atmosphere of heaven.

Our faith will never rise above the words of our lips. Jesus told the woman with the issue of blood that her faith had made her whole. Thoughts may come and they may persist in staying. But if we refuse to put those thoughts into words, they die unborn. Cultivate the habit of thinking big things. Learn to use words that will react upon your own spirit. Faith’s confessions create realities. Realization follows the confession. Confession precedes possession.

Now let’s look “It is finished, you don’t need to PRAY about it, you need to AGREE with the word in FAITH” by Kenneth E. Hagin

Divine healing is an accomplished fact. It is a gift, like salvation, already paid for at Calvary. Have you accepted God’s gift of healing? Are you experiencing it in your life in full? If not, it’s time for you to possess the promise of healing and enjoy complete health in every area!

“I have prayed and prayed. I have been in healing meetings all over the country and have been prayed for many times, but still I am not healed. Can you help me?”

This plaintive appeal has been heard many times by ministers. They pray for sick persons, but often the sick leave as they came—not healed.

Why is it that some are healed instantly while others trudge from place to place seeking healing, only to be disappointed time after time?

Why is it that some who are pillars in the church often suffer for years while others who are less devout receive a sudden miracle from God?

Is God a respecter of persons (Acts 4:34)? Or have we failed in our approach to healing, lacking a complete understanding of what God’s Word teaches on the subject?

Much emphasis has been placed on the practice of anointing with oil, laying on of hands, and praying for the sick. But there is more to healing than anointing with oil, just as there is more to salvation than prayer.

The anointing oil, the minister’s prayer, and the laying on of hands are simply methods, or points of contact. In themselves, they do not heal. They are avenues through which we can release our faith in God’s Word.

Much emphasis also has been placed on the gifts of healings (1 Cor. 12:28), which are among the gifts of the Spirit mentioned in First Corinthians 12:8–10: “For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues.”

There will be manifestations of these supernatural gifts when people preach them, teach them, believe in them, and yield to the Spirit of God; but these gifts are not always in operation.

Often new Christians are healed by such special manifestations. Then the next time they are sick, instead of believing God’s Word, they expect to be healed in this same way, and they are disappointed when they are not.

I have found in my ministry that supernatural manifestations of healing usually are seen either among sinners or among denominational people who have not heard divine healing taught. I have seldom, if ever, seen them work for Full Gospel people.

Why? Because gifts of healings and supernatural manifestations are given primarily to advertise the Gospel and to gain the attention of those outside the Church. The believer should be healed by releasing his faith in the Word of God.

We must distinguish between healings obtained through supernatural gifts or manifestations and those obtained by exercising faith in God’s Word alone.

It also must be understood that an individual does not operate these supernatural gifts; they are manifested through him. I can’t make them operate any time I want to; I can only stay open for the manifestation of the Spirit of God as He wills (1 Cor. 12:11).

We should stay open for the manifestations of the Spirit of God, but we do not have to wait for one in order to be healed. That’s good news, friend. God wants us to be healed, and He has made provision for us to receive and possess healing.

The gifts of healings have been manifested many times in my ministry, but I cannot make them work at will. I can’t push a button or pull a lever, so to speak, and make the gifts start working. They operate as the Spirit wills. Yet we are instructed not to wait for Him, since He has already done something about our healing at the cross.
Healing belongs to us. It isn’t simply a matter of prayer. It isn’t simply a matter of some spiritual gift in operation. Healing belongs to us because it has been provided for us by the Lord Jesus Christ.

When I tell people they don’t have to pray to be healed, they look at me in amazement. Many have failed to receive healing because they have based their faith on prayer instead of on God’s Word. They expected prayer to do for them what God’s Word will do for them. Prayer is successful only when it is based on the promises in God’s Word.

When people come to the altar for prayer, find out what their need is. If a man comes to be saved, you could pray for him for six weeks, but until he acts on what God said in His Word, he will get up and go home unsaved.

Turn to God’s Word. Show him what the Bible says. Get him to believe it and to act upon it. As far as God is concerned, the man is already saved. From God’s standpoint, salvation is already bought and paid for. So it is not a matter of God’s saving him; it is a matter of his accepting the salvation God offers!

Similarly, it is not a matter of God’s baptizing someone with the Holy Spirit; it is a matter of the person accepting the gift of the Holy Spirit that God offers. Likewise, it is not a matter of God’s healing an individual; it is a matter of the person accepting the gift of healing God has already provided.

Some say, “Well, I believe God is going to heal me sometime. I believe that in God’s own good time and in His own way, He will do it.” That kind of thinking is out of line with the Word of God. First Peter 2:24 says, “. . . by whose stripes ye were healed.”

Notice it says, “were,” not “going to be.” If I believe what the Bible says, then I believe that we were healed. Peter is looking back to Calvary. I was healed then. I accept that healing now.

God laid on Jesus our sickness and diseases; Jesus bore them. He was “stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted” with our diseases (Isa. 53:4). Therefore, Satan has no right to put on us what God put on Jesus.

Someone may say, “It may be the will of God for me to be sick. God may get more glory out of my being sick than if I were well.”

What right, then, would God have to put your sickness on Jesus if He wanted you to keep bearing it? There is no need for both of you to bear it. Because Jesus bore it, you are free!

All of God’s blessings and provisions are conditional. He gave us His Word to let us know what conditions must be met in order for us to receive these blessings. They won’t just fall on us automatically like ripe cherries fall off a tree. There is a God-ward side and a man-ward side to every battle and to every blessing. God has His part to play, but man also has his part to play. Man’s part is to obey God and to receive what He has provided.

Paul said that what happened to Israel happened as an example for us (1 Cor. 10:11). When God led the children of Israel out of Egypt (which is a type of the world), He didn’t abandon them in the wilderness; He had a further blessing for them. He had another land for them: Canaan’s land.

Canaan is a type of the baptism of the Holy Spirit and our rights and privileges in Christ, which include healing. God promised the children of Israel repeatedly that He was going to give them that land. When they finally crossed over the Jordan River into Canaan, God said, “Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses” (Joshua 1:3). God had said He would give them the land, but the people had to possess it.

That’s how it is with our rights and privileges in Christ. Healing belongs to us. God has provided it for us. But we have to possess it. Unless we possess the provision, we will not enjoy its benefits.

Many people are waiting for God to do something about their sickness. They say, “If God ever heals me, then I’m going to believe it.”

I have talked to sinners who had the same idea about salvation: They wanted to leave it all up to God. One man said, “If God wants to save me, He will. I’m just waiting on God.” I couldn’t talk him out of the notion, and, sadly, he died without God.

God’s Word says that it is God’s will to save people. He invites them to come: “. . . And whosoever will, let them take the water of life freely” (Rev. 22:17). The responsibility for receiving is on man’s side.

The believer sometimes makes the same mistake when it comes to other things God’s Word promises. He thinks erroneously, “If God wants me to have this, He will give it to me. If I don’t get it, He doesn’t want me to have it.” We need to get into the Word of God and find out what belongs to us. If something is promised to us, or if it is provided for us in His Word, it is His will. All we have to do then is to possess it!

We need to settle this in our minds, because as long as we waver, we will not receive anything. James 1:6 and 7 says, “But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering, For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.” Often we don’t receive because we waver.

Healing is a gift, like salvation, already paid for at Calvary. All we need to do is accept it. All we need to do is possess the promise that is ours. As children of God, we must realize that healing belongs to us!

TWO-FOLD NATURE OF OUR REDEMPTION

Our redemption in Christ is twofold. Jesus not only died for our sins on the Cross of Calvary, His blood was also shed so you and I might live free from sickness and disease.

Isaiah chapter 53 holds the key to both our spiritual and physical redemption.

ISAIAH 53:4–5
4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

In the Hebrew language, the fourth verse reads, “Surely he hath borne our sicknesses, and carried our pains . . . .” In verse 10 of Isaiah 53, the King James Version reads, “Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to GRIEF   . . . .” The word grief comes from the Hebrew word for “sick.” In the Hebrew, this verse literally says, “He has made Him sick.”

Christians don’t have a problem believing Isaiah 53:6, “. . . the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.” But many can’t believe the rest of the redemptive plan, which we saw in verse 4: “. . . he hath borne our sicknesses, and carried our pains . . . .”

The purpose of Jesus bearing our sins was so we might be free from spiritual death and eternal separation from God. The purpose of His bearing sickness and disease was so we might be free from infirmities. If you believe that God laid your iniquities on Jesus for your salvation, then you should also be able to believe that God laid sickness and disease on Him so you could be healed.

Satan is the author of sickness, not God, but he lies to people and makes them think that has God put sickness on them. Or he tries to make them think that God is using sickness to teach them something. I’d just as soon hear a donkey bray at midnight in a tin barn than to hear people talk this way! God does not need the devil to teach you anything!

This type of thinking makes me angry. You see, thinking like this almost cost me my life. When I was on the bed of sickness as a 15 and a 16-year-old Baptist boy, this is what people told me. I didn’t learn anything. Instead, I became bitter and almost turned against God.

Later, after I was healed and went into the ministry, I learned that if I spent time teaching people about the “double cure”—that Jesus not only died for the remission of our sins but also for the healing of our bodies—I could change their wrong thinking. And when people saw that it was God’s will for them to be healed, it was easy for them to receive what was rightfully theirs.

Let’s discuss why people sometimes lose their healing after they’ve received it. I’ve had people say to me that they felt perfectly well for a period of time after I laid hands on them. Then, all the symptoms came back, and they were worse than they before.

This is a simple problem to address. The reason people lose their healing is because they were healed through another’s faith. Sometimes folks receive healing through a special manifestation of the Holy Spirit, such as through a word of knowledge or the gifts of healing, for example. But when they get back home, they’re on their own; they’re operating on their own faith.

When I began to question certain people who lost their healing, I found out that as soon as the symptoms started coming back on them, they said, “Well, I thought I was healed, but I guess I’m not anymore.”

Because they didn’t know how to resist the devil, they took all of their symptoms back. At the first sign of a symptom, they wavered in faith and believed the symptom over the truth of God’s Word. Then they probably said something, such as, “Well, I thought I was healed, but I guess I wasn’t.”

You see, you have to stand your ground against the devil. At the first sign that a symptom is trying to come back on you, tell the devil, “No, you’re not putting that back on me. I’m healed.” Then quote First Peter 2:24, Matthew 8:17, and Isaiah 53:4–5. Remind the devil of what the Word says.

Unfortunately, instead of rising up and meeting the devil with the Word of God and commanding his power to be broken, many people yield to him. Why? Because they don’t have a foundation of God’s Word in their lives.

They’re depending on others to carry them with their faith and prayers, and that will only work temporarily. To receive permanently, you must use your own faith.

When you know the power and authority of the Name of Jesus and that you have a biblical right to that Name, the devil won’t have any power over you. Then when symptoms try to come back on you, you won’t be filled with fear. You’ll just simply laugh at the devil and say, “Satan, Jesus whipped you more than two thousand years ago. Now leave my body!” And he’ll have to leave.

You can’t maintain your healing if it has come as a result of another person’s faith or through the gifts of the Spirit, unless your faith is developed in the Word of God. But beating the devil is as simple as standing your ground and resisting him. He doesn’t have any choice but to flee (James 4:7)!

Build Strong Faith Through the Word

Faith begins where the will of God is known. Rest assured that God wants you well. Healing promises are found throughout the Old and New Testaments. Following are a few scriptures to build your faith where healing is concerned.

Exodus 15:26 (KJV)    “. . . I am the Lord that healeth thee.”

Psalm 91:10 (NIV)    “. . . no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent . . . .”

Deuteronomy 33:25 (NIV)    “. . . your strength will equal your days.”

Psalm 73:26 (KJV)    “. . . God is the strength of my heart . . . .”

Psalm 146:8 (Amplified)    “The Lord opens the eyes of the blind; the Lord lifts up those who are bowed down . . . .”

Galatians 3:13 (KJV)    “Christ hath redeemed me from the curse of the law . . . .”

Malachi 4:2 (NIV)    “But for you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings . . . . ”

Romans 8:11 (KJV)    “. . . the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead . . . shall also quicken your mortal bodies . . . .”

Luke 10:19 (KJV)    “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”

Short Prayer for Self-Deliverance.

“Lord Jesus Christ, I believe You died on the cross for my sins and rose again from the dead. You redeemed me by Your blood and I belong to You, and I want to live for You. I confess all my sins-known and unknown- I’m sorry for them all. I renounce them all. I forgive all others as I want You to forgive me. Forgive me now and cleanse me with Your blood. I thank You for the blood of Jesus Christ which cleanses me now from all sin. And I come to You now as my deliverer. You know my special needs-the thing that binds, that torments, that defiles; that evil spirit, that unclean spirit—I claim the promise of Your word, “Whosoever that calleth on the name of the Lord shall be delivered.” I call upon You now. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, deliver me and set me free. Satan, I renounce you and all your works. I loose myself from you, in the name of Jesus, and I command you to leave me right now in Jesus’ name. Amen!”

Let it come from your heart and see the salvation of the Lord!
