Hosea 6:3

Let us acknowledge the Lord;let us press on to acknowledge him. As surely as the sun rises,he will appear;he will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth.

Jesus Christ is to be the center of our attention. He is to be the “hub of the wheel” of our lives and we cannot expect to go far in our Christian life without the power and

stability that the hub provides. As the Apostle Paul reminds us, “it is no longer we who live but Christ who lives in us, and the new life we live, we live by faith in the Son of God who loves us and gave Himself for us.”

And so we need to be careful that the activities in our discipleship do not replace Jesus as of prime importance. We need constant reminding to keep our focus on Jesus and not just the training wheels as we practice.

*A true story for reading, meditation and contemplation*

As I sat in my small, cluttered apartment, surrounded by piles of unpaid bills and unwashed dishes, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of emptiness. I had always been a spiritual person, but I had never really made Jesus the center of my life. I had always been more focused on my own desires and needs, rather than seeking God’s will for my life.

But one day, something changed. I was going through a particularly difficult time, and I found myself reaching out to God in a way that I never had before. I began to pray regularly, and I started to read the Bible and attend church more frequently. And as I did, I felt a sense of peace and purpose that I had never experienced before.

As I delved deeper into my faith, I began to see the world in a different light. I started to notice the beauty and wonder of creation, and I began to see the love and grace of God in the faces of those around me. I started to serve others more selflessly, and I found joy in helping those in need.

But the most amazing thing that happened was the way that Jesus became the center of my life. I started to see Him in every aspect of my day, from the moment I woke up in the morning to the moment I went to bed at night. I started to pray to Him throughout the day, asking for guidance and strength, and I felt His presence with me at all times.

As I made Jesus the center of my life, I found that my priorities began to shift. I started to value relationships and service over material possessions and personal success. I started to see the world as a place of beauty and wonder, rather than a place of competition and selfishness. And I started to experience a sense of joy and fulfillment that I had never known before.

Looking back on that time in my life, I can see how much Jesus has changed me. He has given me a sense of purpose and direction that I never had before, and He has given me a sense of peace and joy that I never thought possible. And as I continue to make Jesus the center of my life, I know that He will continue to guide and transform me in ways that I never thought possible.
