The Great Exchange For Service – intercession Part 8 – Self – Confrontation and Self – Defense
Key verse:
Matthew 5:27-30
27 “You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’
28 But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.29 If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell.30 And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell.
Matthew 18:6-9
6 “Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were drowned in the depth of the sea.
7 Woe to the world because of offenses! For offenses must come, but woe to that man by whom the offense comes!8 “If your hand or foot causes you to sin, cut it off and cast it from you. It is better for you to enter into life lame or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet, to be cast into the everlasting fire.9 And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you. It is better for you to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes, to be cast into hell fire.
Matthew 16:21-23
21 From that time Jesus began to show to His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised the third day.22 Then Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him, saying, “Far be it from You, Lord; this shall not happen to You!”23 But He turned and said to Peter, “Get behind Me, Satan! You are an offense to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men.”
1 Corinthians 9:22-23;26-27
22 to the weak I became as weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.23 Now this I do for the gospel’s sake, that I may be partaker of it with you.26 Therefore I run thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as one who beats the air.27 But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.
Psalms 101:3
3 I will set nothing wicked before my eyes; I hate the work of those who fall away; It shall not cling to me.
Matthew 24:9-14
9 “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake.
10 And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another.
11 Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many.
12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.
13 But he who endures to the end shall be saved.
14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.
Isaiah 1:19-20
19 If you are willing and obedient, You shall eat the good of the land;
20 But if you refuse and rebel, You shall be devoured by the sword”; For the mouth of the LORD has spoken.
The Great Exchange For Service – intercession Part 8 – Self – Confrontation and Self – Defense
Dear brethren, last Sunday, we looked at the need to take action in self-defense in persecution as it relates to intimacy, intercession and The Great Exchange for Service. We are thankful to readers from around the world who provided useful feedback from previous series on intercession. This Sunday, we are looking at specific things we must do both online and offline as first lines of defense in an increasingly volatile, lawless, wicked and self centered, self seeking world for self, family, schools, businesses and any type organization for that matter. So, Let’s begin!
In the scheme of God as it pertains to The Great Exchange for Service, The Greatest dis-service you can offer is the dis-service to yourself and the specific assignment God has given you to accomplish as ambassadors of Christ here on earth. Service exchange begins with the being – who I am in God rather than what I do for God. What profit is that to me, if I serve the whole wide world for God’s sake and end up in hell because I have let down my guide? Or if I have ignored or relegated my defense to others rather than to myself? It all boil down to self – defense (self-defence). It is ok to pray, it is ok to fast, it is ok to intercede but it is not ok not to take action when it has everything to do with me and eternity with God.
There are questions that could help us reinforce our defense mechanism can be highlighted hereunder like, What must I let go? Who must I let go? What association must I let go? What place , people or things must I let go? What are the things in my life that I just must let go for the sake of eternity?
Is it the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh and the pride of life that I must let go? Are there things in me or around me or far away from me that urge me uncontrollably to these three traits? I must self defend beginning today with ME and all the people God has brought into my life, ensuring, by Gods grace that we must all make eternity in Christ Jesus together. Jesus Christ, in two occasion brought up the issue of cutting things off our lives in the book of Matthew 5:27-30 and Matthew 18: 6-9 with respect to adultery and how we handle children. Isn’t that instructive? In one book, same warning. It means we just must take note of these things and take corresponding corrective action to mitigate or forestall avoidable consequences.
For instance, Peter confronted Jesus concerning His death on the cross, which was the core of His assignment here on it. Jesus addressed satan to get behind Him but not Peter. Jesus understood that Peter was just a tool used by Satan to stop Jesus from going to the cross or from letting go of His call here on earth. Are there people in our lives that are used as hindrances to Gods specific call over or lives, we must be discerning enough not to take it out on them but on the spirit behind them. We must not get into the flesh? Are we being persecuted for righteousness sake in our homes, offices, the market place and our nation? we must not get in the flesh because this is not a flesh and blood matter (Ephesians 6:10-20) This is bigger than we can handle on our own. We need heavenly backup with corrective actions where necessary manifesting in the physical environment.
We must deliberately cut things off that led us astray or break our focus on God. We must slow down on activities that eat into our personal altar with the Lord where intimacy with God is found. We must not see the attack on the heart of our nation from the position of flesh but understand that the devil is fighting the call over this nation. We must discern, spiritually speaking how to react while taking first line measures directly from the throne room by the wisdom God provides. This is only available in the place of intimacy. Jesus said in John 14:21 that if you have my commandments and keep them, it is you who love me and my Father will love you and I will love you and manifest myself to you..paraphrased. Verse 23 says Jesus and God the Father will come and make their home in us. We are now the church of Jesus Christ, not the building we gather every now and then. Meeting in church to worship is good as we equip one another for the work of ministry but our personal altars with the Lord of our life is the GREATEST investment we can make both now and into eternity. There are so many unnecessary headache we encounter because of lack of investment of time in the SECRET PLACE. This is where intimacy comes in. It is not given to everyone but only those who are willing and ready to obey. When this happens consistently, our actions becomes God’s action because our thinking are God’s thinking. Why not? Because they have made their home in us so nothing else can gain access to that place unless we give the go ahead to the devil to take a place in us.
For instance, do you and I feed our imagination with dirty pornographic images, we are setting ourselves up either for adultery or fornication which is a sin against our body, the temple of God. Do have have controls over our eye gate, our ear gate which are entrances to our souls? Do we attend odd parties that causes us to go against Gods injunctions, we need to cut it off. Are we keeping tab on what our love ones are doing online and offline? Do we know where they are if and when emergency structs unannounced? Can we respond to an emergency situation decisively when there is a call for help? Do we have systems in place to check excesses on systems in our home, school or businesses despite busy works schedule.. so you can proactively take corrective measures today to avoid failures tomorrow?
Let’s look at specific things we must do offline and some of these apply online as well:
1) Self Profiling
Psalms 26:2
2 Examine me, O LORD, and prove me; Try my mind and my heart.
Psalms 139:23-24
23 Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties;
24 And see if there is any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting.
1 Corinthians 3:10
10 According to the grace of God which was given to me, as a wise master builder I have laid the foundation, and another builds on it. But let each one take heed how he builds on it.
1 Corinthians 7:20
20 Let each one remain in the same calling in which he was called.
We must profile our own self first. What are our strengths and weaknesses? What makes us fail and fall all the time? What is our spiritual state in God? Do we sincerely , intimately know Him, does He know us and relate with us? Do we know that or are we guessing ? What has God called us to do specifically for Him and in what area and to whom and with whom? Are we in His timing or should I say, are we synchronized or synced up with Gods agenda for our time? Are we living daily in obedience and carrying the cross He has designed for us to carry? We must write this down and score our performance continually so we don’t end up like Jonah in the belly of the fish.
2) Others Profiling
Matthew 23:15,33
15 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel land and sea to win one proselyte, and when he is won, you make him twice as much a son of hell as yourselves.33 Serpents, brood of vipers! How can you escape the condemnation of hell?
Luke 22:31-32
31 And the Lord said, “Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat.32 But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren.”
1 Corinthians 7:20,23-24
20 Let each one remain in the same calling in which he was called.
23 You were bought at a price; do not become slaves of men.
24 Brethren, let each one remain with God in that state in which he was called.
1 Corinthians 15:33
33 Do not be deceived: “Evil company corrupts good habits.”
1 Corinthians 5:9-13
9 I wrote to you in my epistle not to keep company with sexually immoral people.
10 Yet I certainly did not mean with the sexually immoral people of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or idolaters, since then you would need to go out of the world.
11 But now I have written to you not to keep company with anyone named a brother, who is sexually immoral, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or an extortioner—not even to eat with such a person.
12 For what have I to do with judging those also who are outside? Do you not judge those who are inside?
13 But those who are outside God judges. Therefore “put away from yourselves the evil person.”
We must profile others. We must ask some serious questions about ALL our relationships from our wives to children to extended families, to our hired helps at home, to people we work with and work for, to our brothers and sisters in the Lord, our spiritual leaders and national leaders. What is their spiritual state? Outward appearance is deceiving. We must discern to find out what makes them do what they do so we can have VALID UPDATED CONTENT both to pray and to relate or cut off. We must determine what role we are to play in their lives and what role they are to play in ours. We must be able to tell whether they belong to the past, the present or the future or to maintain a distance. We must know who are the Judah’s iscariot in our lives, who must walk with us so we can fulfill purpose and still keep a very good attitude and Godly maturity.
3) Environmental Profiling
Genesis 18:20-21
20 And the LORD said, “Because the outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grave,
21 I will go down now and see whether they have done altogether according to the outcry against it that has come to Me; and if not, I will know.”
Ephesians 6:18
18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints—
1 Corinthians 16:13
13 Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong.
Luke 10:1
1 After these things the Lord appointed seventy others also, and sent them two by two before His face into every city and place where He Himself was about to go.
Numbers 13:25
25 And they returned from spying out the land after forty days.
Daniel 10:13,20
13 But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days; and behold, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I had been left alone there with the kings of Persia.20 Then he said, “Do you know why I have come to you? And now I must return to fight with the prince of Persia; and when I have gone forth, indeed the prince of Greece will come.
We must profile our surrounding. We must discern the spiritual state of our environment like Sodom and Gomorrah and Gods exchange with Abraham. We must be aware of the principalities and powers holding that environment. We must also know the human representative of those entities to provide content for intercession. This environment also includes our workplace, where our children school or where we work or live so we do not act or pray in ignorance or advise in ignorance. We must be watchful of strange faces in our environment asking the Lord to unmask them and cause their intent to be known or to engage for evangelism. Instruction has to come from the place of intimacy. If we don’t ask Him, we don’t expect to hear and when He does speak and we are not ready, we can easily misinterpret and wrongfully apply. Some people are ripe to encounter Christ and some are not only the spirit of God can give us those hidden secrets.
In the online world, OTAKADA.org as partnered with developers from around the world and deployed on our site to address some of the self defense mechanism we mentioned earlier. we are now able to interact with devices (mobile phones, laptops, desktop and virtual devices) to block harmful content automatically from within or from afar on our devices and those of our love ones under the self ICT control or Family ICT control software . We are now able to approve content or block content remotely. We are now able to monitor what happens on those computers screens remotely in homes, schools and businesses without being physically present with them. So we do not expose ourselves and children to harmful content by default or have workers use production time for other things beyond official job.
We are now able to Geo track people, places and things with or without the internet, anywhere in the world and monitored and recorded in any part of the world. We are now able to pick up emergency messages from any device anywhere in the world with or without the internet. This could come handy in providing first responder action and not wait for event to break on the news before you know your wards are in danger. SOS emergency messages can be engaged to connect and alert parents or key guardians. The chibok girls, the Dapshi girls , Leah Sharibu cases are wake up calls for us all to get our spirit directed thinking up and acting.
If this is of interest, Fill up the form via this link
https://www.otakada.org/self-defense and we will send you details to help reinforce your first line of defense ( defence) in your life, your home, your school and your businesses.
In conclusion, It is impossible for anyone outside of you to help defend you beyond what you are willing to do to secure your self. Jesus escaped to Egypt, He escaped several times when the tried to kill Him before His time. Jesus confronted the spiritual leaders in His time. Jesus died in the time ordained for Him because it was written. We are not permitted to go before the appointed time. That is premature death. It is not our portion in the name of Jesus. First line self defense begins with you and me. Let it not be that out of our carelessness and ignorance, we refuse to take action and we end up casualties thinking that God Will do everything for us beyond what we are unwilling to do for ourselves. Read
Isaiah 1:19-20
19 If you are willing and obedient, You shall eat the good of the land;
20 But if you refuse and rebel, You shall be devoured by the sword”; For the mouth of the LORD has spoken.
May the Lord grant us all wisdom and insight in the volatile times and season we are in through the name of our Lord and savior Jesus name..Amen
