Relate the two words to these 5 stories by Victor Frankl, Charles R. Swindoll, Helen Millacoat, Jake, Matthew and God – The Great, I Am

1)VICTOR FRANKL,

a Viennese Jew, was interned by the Germans for more than
three years. He was moved from one concentration camp to another, even
spending several months at Auschwitz. Later he wrote these words:

“The experiences of camp life show that man does have a choice of action. There were enough examples, often of a heroic nature, which proved that apathy could be overcome, irritability suppressed. Man can preserve a vestige of spiritual freedom, in independence of mind, even in such terrible conditions of psychic and physical distress.
“We who lived in concentration camps can remember the men who walked through the hurts comforting others, giving away their last piece of bread. They may have been few in number, but they offer sufficient proof that everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of
the human freedoms-to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way.”

2) I Am

I was regretting the past
And fearing the future.
Suddenly my Lord was speaking:
“MY NAME IS I AM.” He paused.
I waited. He continued,
“WHEN YOU LIVE IN THE PAST,
WITH ITS MISTAKES AND REGRETS,
IT IS HARD. I AM NOT THERE.
MY NAME IS NOT I WAS.
“WHEN YOU LIVE IN THE FUTURE,
WITH ITS PROBLEMS AND FEARS,
IT IS HARD, I AM NOT THERE.
MY NAME IS NOT I WILL BE.
“WHEN YOU LIVE IN THE MOMENT,
IT’S NOT HARD.
I AM HERE.
MY NAME IS I AM.”
-Helen Mallicoat

3) WORDS CAN NEVER

adequately convey the incredible impact of our attitude toward life. The longer I live the more convinced I become that life is 10 percent what happens to us and 90 percent how we respond to it.
I believe the single most significant decision I can make on a day-to-day basis is my choice of attitude. It is more important than my past, my education, my bankroll, my successes or failures, fame or pain, what other people think of me or say about me, my circumstances, or my position. Attitude keeps me going or cripples my progress…. It alone fuels my fire or assaults my hope.
When my attitude is right, there’s no barrier too high, no valley too deep, no dream too extreme, no challenge too great for me.
-Charles R. Swindoll, Strengthening Your grip

4)Jake’s Story on Attitude  after a devastating tornado

Once upon a time, in a small town, there lived a young boy named Jake. Jake was known in the community for his positive attitude and cheerful disposition. No matter what challenges he faced, Jake always approached them with a smile and a can-do attitude.

One day, a devastating tornado swept through the town, destroying homes and leaving many people in despair. However, amidst the chaos, Jake stood tall, ready to help his community. He rallied his friends and family, and together they started organizing relief efforts.

The aftermath of the tornado was heart-wrenching, with people losing their homes and loved ones. But Jake refused to let the tragedy dampen his spirits. He visited the affected families, providing them with emotional support and ensuring they had food, clothing, and shelter.

Others in the community were amazed by Jake’s unwavering positive attitude. They were inspired to join his cause and unite in rebuilding their town. They started organizing fundraisers, gathering donations, and recruiting volunteers to help with the recovery process.

Months passed, and through sheer determination and a positive attitude, the town slowly began to rebuild. Jake’s efforts, along with the community’s unity, had turned tragedy into an opportunity for growth and resilience.

Years later, the town had not only recovered from the tornado, but it had also thrived. New houses were built, businesses reopened, and a sense of community was stronger than ever before. Jake’s positive attitude had left an indelible mark on everyone who had crossed his path.

This true story of Jake reflects the power of attitude in overcoming adversity and bringing people together. Jake’s unwavering positivity and belief in the strength of the community helped not only rebuild the physical aspects of the town but also fostered a renewed sense of hope and unity among its residents. From that day forward, the town would always remember the impact a positive attitude could have in turning tragedy into an opportunity for growth and resilience.

5)  Matthew story on dealing with Apathy in his community

Once upon a time, in a small town, there lived a young man named Matthew. Matthew had always been known for his caring and compassionate nature, always willing to lend a helping hand and make a positive impact in the community.

However, as time went by, Matthew began to notice a growing sense of apathy among the townspeople. There were countless community events, fundraisers, and volunteer opportunities, but fewer and fewer people seemed interested in getting involved.

One day, Matthew attended a town hall meeting where the issue of apathy was a hot topic of discussion. The mayor and other community leaders expressed their concerns about the lack of interest shown by the townspeople and brainstormed ways to address the problem.

Feeling determined to make a difference, Matthew decided to take matters into his own hands. He began organizing various events and initiatives aimed at rekindling people’s passion for their community. He started a neighborhood cleanup program, gathering volunteers to pick up trash and beautify the town’s parks and streets.

Matthew also organized a series of workshops and community talks, where passionate individuals were invited to share their stories and experiences in hopes of inspiring others to get involved. He reached out to local schools and encouraged them to incorporate community service into their curriculum to instill a sense of empathy and responsibility in the younger generation.

At first, it seemed as though Matthew’s efforts were in vain. The same familiar faces would appear at his events, and the apathy he fought against felt overwhelming. But Matthew refused to give up.

He understood that change takes time and that the seeds of inspiration needed time to grow. Despite his disappointment, he continued to tirelessly organize events, reach out to people, and encourage them to be a part of something bigger.

Slowly but surely, Matthew’s dedication started to pay off. The town began to stir with a renewed sense of community spirit. People started showing up in larger numbers at his events. Families came together to volunteer, friendships were formed, and the town’s energy seemed to shift for the better.

The apathy that once plagued the community began to dwindle, replaced by a sense of purpose and connection. People started to realize the power they held in their own hands to make a difference, no matter how small.

Matthew’s story is a testament to the fact that one person can indeed make a significant impact on apathy and inspire change in a community. Through his unwavering determination, he revived the town’s spirit and brought people together, reminding them that they have the power to shape their future by simply caring enough to take action.

Shalom!
