If you missed our last post titled, “Perfect Church Ministry – Behavioral Indicators that point to Spiritual Leaders needing URGENT Help before they self-destruct self and others!
Annual Forty-day Fast for Church and Leadership on Unity and Revival
We begin our annual forty (40) Day Prayer and Fasting for Church and Leadership on Unity and Revival in the body of Christ this Thursday the 17th of March 2022 all the way to Monday the 25th of April 2022. This mandate was given by the Lord Himself to us sixteen years ago, on 16th of March 2006.
Late last year, it became known to me that the Lord had commission another intercessor – Bro Peter Tan, who is based in Australia to fast every year for 40 days for the church. He got His commission in 1976. The forty-day fasting window is between February and March every year till date. Ours is March to April.
I believe very strongly that the Lord has given similar instructions to others to cover the whole year in unbroken prayer chain for the Church, covering different areas so that the church can be all that Christ has destined her to be. If the church must march forward unhindered, then someone has to bind and loose on earth what God has already determined in heaven.
Kindly Read and carefully meditate on this scripture below from Jesus Christ Himself in
Matthew 16:17-19
English Standard Version
17 And Jesus answered him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah! For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven. 18 And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. 19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”
Why then will God, the One that can do all things, and knows all things require us to pray? It is because absolutely nothing happens in the earth realm concerning the things God has determined in heaven for the kingdom of God on earth until someone prays! You say, “Monday, Really?”
Yes, Truly!
I can buttress that point about NOTHING happening on earth except in response to prayer here with these scriptures:
Lets start with Jesus Christ. The disciples asked Jesus to teach them to pray. If prayer was unnecessary, then why did Jesus thought them to pray? Notice the words in the prayer as follows:
Matthew 6:9-10
Amplified Bible, Classic Edition
9 Pray, therefore, like this: Our Father Who is in heaven, hallowed (kept holy) be Your name.
10 Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
If the kingdom in heaven can just manifest on earth automatically without asking, then why ask God who knows all things, and can execute all things without our permission? Because, you must ask for it and for the following reasons as shown in below scriptures:
29 The people of the land have used oppression and extortion and have committed robbery; yes, they have wronged and vexed the poor and needy; yes, they have oppressed the stranger and temporary resident wrongfully.
30 And I sought a man among them who should build up the wall and stand in the gap before Me for the land, that I should not destroy it, but I found none.
31 Therefore have I poured out My indignation upon them; I have consumed them with the fire of My wrath; their own way have I repaid [by bringing it] upon their own heads, says the Lord God
Note: if God can do all things, why does He look for a man?
Until you read this
6 Then flew one of the seraphim [heavenly beings] to me, having a live coal in his hand which he had taken with tongs from off the altar;
7 And with it he touched my mouth and said, Behold, this has touched your lips; your iniquity and guilt are taken away, and your sin is completely atoned for and forgiven.
8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send? And who will go for Us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.
9 And He said, Go and tell this people, Hear and hear continually, but understand not; and see and see continually, but do not apprehend with your mind.
Psalm 115:16 – The heavens are the Lord’s heavens, but the earth he has given to the children of man.
Isaiah 45:11 – Thus says the Lord, The Holy One of Israel, and his Maker: “Ask Me of things to come concerning My sons; And concerning the work of My hands, you command Me.
Jeremiah 29:11-14
Amplified Bible, Classic Edition
11 For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome.
12 Then you will call upon Me, and you will come and pray to Me, and I will hear and heed you.
13 Then you will seek Me, inquire for, and require Me [as a vital necessity] and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.
14 I will be found by you, says the Lord, and I will release you from captivity and gather you from all the nations and all the places to which I have driven you, says the Lord, and I will bring you back to the place from which I caused you to be carried away captive.
Jeremiah 33:3
Amplified Bible, Classic Edition
3 Call to Me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things, fenced in and hidden, which you do not know (do not distinguish and recognize, have knowledge of and understand).
2 Chronicles 7:14
Amplified Bible, Classic Edition
14 If My people, who are called by My name, shall humble themselves, pray, seek, crave, and require of necessity My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land.
Luke 6:12
It was at this time that He went off to the mountain to pray, and He spent the whole night in prayer to God.
If everything came automatically on earth as some of us think, then why did Jesus prioritized prayer above all else? Why should you? Are you more anointed than Jesus? Answer me?
Our core theme for the annual forty day fast on Unity and Revival is taken from Jesus prayer in John 17: 1-26 and Paul’s letter to the Ephesians in Ephesians 4:1-16, focusing on leadership responsibility of equipping the saints for the work of ministry and this process continues till we all come to unity of faith.
What then do we do in these 40 days of prayer and fasting?
1)Entire Bible Reading Plan: We read the entire bible like if we know nothing or we have not seen those texts before as we open ourselves to the Holy Spirit to Teach us. In 38 days, we cover the entire bible, reading and meditating on Six (6) books of the bible and seven (7) chapters from each of the books. Selecting three (3) books from the old testament and three (3) books from the new testament. We adjust accordingly where we don’t have the entire seven chapters in a given book or where the new testament finishes before the old. We start the reading Genesis forward and Revelation backwards to Jude, 1 John, 2 John 3 John, 1 Peter 2 Peter etc.
2)Prayer Sessions: We pray every 3 hours – 6am, 9am, 12 noon, 3pm, 6pm, 9pm, 12midnight, 3am, and 6 am again.
3) Prayer Expectations: Before we start, we have the prayer expectation for self, family, church, relations, nation and nations of the world spread out and add to them as the Holy Spirit bring clarity in thought impressions, dreams, visions and the like
4) Prayer Engagements: We ask point blank questions like, “Lord, why is this not working or what should we do differently, or where are we doing ok and where are we missing it? Or how should I pray or what should I pray for so and so. You can ask anything you want and the Lord will give you answers… Remember, He said, “Ask of me, concerning the works of my hand and also concerning my children
5) Prayer visitations: We expect visitations. I have noticed consistently that the Lord visits on the 38th day of each fasting period. I don’t know why. But it does happen. I will ask Him this time around.
6)Prayer Records: Throughout scripture, we encounter God always asking those with whom He engages to write the message down – We keep records of what we are receiving, learning, encountering or what the Holy Spirit is impressing upon our hearts.
7)Fasting duration: Some days, we can start with 6am to 6pm, some days, 3 days straight or more depending on the perception we receive. We suggest, proceed as your strength carries you. Don’t push beyond what you can bear. It is not how long but how well you engage in intimacy with the Father, the Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit.
8) Avoiding Distractions: We avoid distractions as much as possible, usually in isolated locations, this help quietens down our minds and our bodies so that the spirit can be amplified and in synch with the Holy Spirit.
The keyword is to be led by the Holy Spirit because this is the era of the Holy Spirit.
INVITATION to PARTICIPATE: You are welcome to be part of this year’s session if you are passionate about unity in the body of Christ and the need for equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, join in your secret place and you will see and experience the salvation of the Lord in Jesus name, Amen

Today, we have set aside to pray for Oceania with the theme – Iniquity, Transgression and Sin
The scripture for Oceania today is
Psalm 51
To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David; when Nathan the prophet came to him after he had sinned with Bathsheba.
1 Have mercy upon me, O God, according to Your steadfast love; according to the multitude of Your tender mercy and loving-kindness blot out my transgressions.
2 Wash me thoroughly [and repeatedly] from my iniquity and guilt and cleanse me and make me wholly pure from my sin!
3 For I am conscious of my transgressions and I acknowledge them; my sin is ever before me.
4 Against You, You only, have I sinned and done that which is evil in Your sight, so that You are justified in Your sentence and faultless in Your judgment.
5 Behold, I was brought forth in [a state of] iniquity; my mother was sinful who conceived me [and I too am sinful].
6 Behold, You desire truth in the inner being; make me therefore to know wisdom in my inmost heart.
7 Purify me with hyssop, and I shall be clean [ceremonially]; wash me, and I shall [in reality] be whiter than snow.
8 Make me to hear joy and gladness and be satisfied; let the bones which You have broken rejoice.
9 Hide Your face from my sins and blot out all my guilt and iniquities.
10 Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right, persevering, and steadfast spirit within me.
11 Cast me not away from Your presence and take not Your Holy Spirit from me.
12 Restore to me the joy of Your salvation and uphold me with a willing spirit.
13 Then will I teach transgressors Your ways, and sinners shall be converted and return to You.
14 Deliver me from bloodguiltiness and death, O God, the God of my salvation, and my tongue shall sing aloud of Your righteousness (Your rightness and Your justice).
15 O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth shall show forth Your praise.
16 For You delight not in sacrifice, or else would I give it; You find no pleasure in burnt offering.
17 My sacrifice [the sacrifice acceptable] to God is a broken spirit; a broken and a contrite heart [broken down with sorrow for sin and humbly and thoroughly penitent], such, O God, You will not despise.
18 Do good in Your good pleasure to Zion; rebuild the walls of Jerusalem.
19 Then will You delight in the sacrifices of righteousness, justice, and right, with burnt offering and whole burnt offering; then bullocks will be offered upon Your altar.
What Is Iniquity? Its Meaning and Importance in the Bible
As found in the Bible, “iniquity” is defined as being wicked or immoral in nature or character. Primarily, it indicates “not an action, but the character of an action”, and is so distinguished from “sin”.
Bible Definition of Iniquity
As found in the Bible, “iniquity” is defined as being wicked or immoral in nature or character. Primarily, it indicates “not an action, but the character of an action”, and is so distinguished from “sin”. Therefore, we have the phrase “the iniquity of my sin” (Psalms 32:5). Iniquity can be described as the essence of wrongdoing or evil, while sin is this quality actually enacted in the world.
Merriam-Webster provides further context for the meaning of iniquity as used in the following sentence: “The use of illegal narcotics is not only a destroyer of personal health but also an iniquity that undermines our society.”
Synonyms of Iniquity: corruption, degeneracy, immorality, sin, vice.
Iniquity in the Bible
Ezekiel 18:20 – The soul who sins shall die. The son shall not suffer for the iniquity of the father, nor the father suffer for the iniquity of the son. The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon himself
Exodus 34:7 Keeping steadfast love for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, but who will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children and the children’s children, to the third and the fourth generation.”
Jeremiah 31:34 And no longer shall each one teach his neighbor and each his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, declares the Lord. For I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.”
The Difference between Iniquity, Sin, and Transgression
There are three primary Hebrew words which are often used correspondently. These words are often translated as sin, iniquity, or transgression. Chattah, which is most often translated as sin, means to miss the mark. Awon, often translated as iniquity, relates more to the inner character and points to an intentional twisting of a given standard. Pesha, often translated as transgression, is more of a willful rebellion against the given standard. We see these words in their nuances and also used interchangeably in
Psalm 51:
Have mercy on me, O God, according to your steadfast love; according to your abundant mercy blot out my pesha [transgressions]. Wash me thoroughly from my awon [iniquity], and cleanse me from my chattah [sin]! For I know my pasha [transgressions], and my chattah [sin] is always before me. Against you, you only, have I chattah [sinned] and done what is evil in your sight, so that you may be justified in your words and blameless in your judgment. Behold, I was brought forth in awon [iniquity] and in chattah [sin]did my mother conceive me.
In Psalm 32:5, the psalmist says, “I acknowledged my sin to you and did not cover up my iniquity. I said, ‘I will confess my transgressions to the LORD.’” In this one verse, “sin,” “iniquity,” and “transgression” are all mentioned. Basically, the three words communicate the same idea: evil and lawlessness, as defined by God (1 John 3:4). Though, upon closer inspection, each word also bears a somewhat separate meaning.
Meaning of Sin
Sin signifies “to miss the mark.” It can indicate doing something against God or against a person (Exodus 10:16), doing the contrast of what is right (Galatians 5:17), doing something that will have adverse results (Proverbs 24:33–34), and neglecting to do something you know is right (James 4:17). In the Old Testament, God even established sacrifices for unintentional sins (Numbers 15:27). Sin is the common phrase for anything that “falls short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).
Meaning of Iniquity
Iniquity indicates a conscious decision; to commit iniquity is to proceed without repentance. Micah 2:1 says, “Woe to those who plan iniquity, to those who plot evil on their beds! At morning’s light, they carry it out because it is in their power to do it.” In David’s psalm of repentance, he cries out to God, saying, “Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin” (Psalm 51:2).
God forgives iniquity, as He does any sort of sin when we genuinely repent (Hebrews 8:12). However, iniquity left unchecked advances to a point of intentional sin with no fear of God. The growth of shameless sin is sometimes portrayed as a “cup of iniquity” being filled to the brim (Revelation 17:4). This often pertains to nations who have forsaken God entirely. Continued iniquity leads to irregular desires, which leads to a degenerate mind. Romans 1:28-32 describes this deviation in graphic detail. The sons of Eli are biblical examples of sinners whom God judged for their iniquities. Rather than repent, Eli’s sons continued in their evils until remorse was no longer possible.
Father, we bring before you the people of the continent of Oceania today, as we humbly come before You in TOTAL repentance, because we have sinned and fall short of Your glory! Lord have mercy upon us all, Lord forgive us of our iniquities, and our sins and transgressions for they are many. Thank You for restoring us through the precious blood of Your Son – Jesus Christ, in Jesus name, amen
