Title: Part 36 – Enough is Enough to Captivity of Satan and welcome to Freedom in Christ Jesus – Can Spirit Filled Christians be under the influence of Demonic, Evil Entities? F + Don’t lose heart! How then do I not lose heart in the storms of life?
Friends, one of the ways the evil one gains unfettered access to us, especially professing Christians is in the area of Satan’s projections of vain imaginations onto our minds. Imaginations that are vain because they do not line up with God’s WORDS, Gods PLANS and God’s PURPOSES for our lives. If the enemy knows you cannot open any door for them to gain partial or full access into you, they will infect you and me with imaginations that runs contrary to the words, plans and purposes of God for our lives from the outside of our bodies until they get us to self-destruct by negative thought patterns that run contrary to God’s words, God’s plans and God’s purposes for our lives.
Let’s look at the first title: Don’t lose heart! How then do I not lose heart in the storms of life?
We need to lay some scriptural foundations here. We are tripartite beings – We are spiritual beings, living in a body and possessing a soul where the seat of imagination or mind is. Imagination(s) or thought life are spiritual. The devil is a spirit, you are a spirit and God is a spirit.
If God wants to give you anything or wants to communicate to you His words, His plans and His purposes or instructions for your life, those will come in forms of painted images which are in the realm of imagination, these are spiritual. Words, pictures, dreams are all in the realm of imagination – a definite spiritual article that can be felt.
Now let’s look at some examples. When God promised Abraham the father of faith, read, hear and meditate on what God said to Abraham in this text:
Genesis 13:14-16
Amplified Bible, Classic Edition
14 The Lord said to Abram after Lot had left him, Lift up now your eyes and look from the place where you are, northward and southward and eastward and westward;
15 For all the land which you see I will give to you and to your posterity forever.
16 And I will make your descendants like the dust of the earth, so that if a man could count the dust of the earth, then could your descendants also be counted.
You can see from the above word play, that they are all painted in imaginative terms. God is saying to you and me this day that, “If you can see what I am about to give you, it is already yours for the taking.”
God can have great words, plans and purposes for your life but if you cannot visualize it, you can’t have it – Pure and simple!
The realm of visualization is the realm of imagination, that is the realm of faith or trust that He who promised it is faithful to bring it to pass. BUT, you must see it in your mind’s eye before it becomes a reality in your experience.
If that imagination that God has painted on your mind stays long enough and you are able to meditate, not memorize it until it gets into your heart, then a miracle is pretty much done in Healing, Deliverance and Restoration – Not just for ourselves but for others in same or similar boat who are willing to key into meditating on God’s word. In meditating, you become a talking and walking miracle already manifested in the spiritual realm waiting for physical manifestation. The spirit realm comes first before the physical realm. If you don’t have it in the spirit realm, you can’t have it in the physical realm.
Satan, the enemy of man understands this process and you must not be ignorant. Let’s see how he does this. A thought came to you in your unguided moment from the enemy. You first begin processing it by thinking, memorizing it and eventually meditate on it by default. Next, you developed emotions relative to the thought that lighted upon your mind. Next you took action to actualize the thoughts that have slipped into your heart.
Read, Watch and Meditate on the process:
HEARING or SEEING or PERCEIVING Gives birth to THINKING which brings about EMOTIONS that triggers ACTIONS
If you cannot arrest it at the HEARING or SEEING stage, you can arrest it at the THINKING stage with God’s word, spoken out so that when you speak it, you can hear yourself. If you fail to arrest it at the THINKING stage, you are HYPNOTIZED.
To abort at the EMOTION stage, it will take divine intervention – an uphill task but not impossible.
These thoughts, or visions can be dropped whilst you are at the conscious level, assuming something bad happens to you and the thinking that follows those thoughts have to be filtered in line with God’s word or whilst you are sleeping – unconscious level. You had a bad dream or you ate in the dream or died in the dream. You woke up and began recalling it and meditating on it. You do that long enough, you lose control and that becomes a reality in your daily experience because it has gained access to your heart through meditation.
The place to arrest it with God’s word relative to that thought event is first at the seeing or hearing level and when the thought comes to you. Using God’s words, you align those thoughts to His word and keep meditating on that word until you sabotage the scheme of the evil one concerning your life.
That was why Solomon said in Proverbs 4:20-24
Amplified Bible, Classic Edition
20 My son, attend to my words; consent and submit to my sayings.
21 Let them not depart from your sight; keep them in the center of your heart.
22 For they are life to those who find them, healing and health to all their flesh.
23 Keep and guard your heart with all vigilance and above all that you guard, for out of it flow the springs of life.
24 Put away from you false and dishonest speech, and willful and contrary talk put far from you.
Apostle Paul gave more meat to the importance of guiding our thought life by these word in 2 Corinthians 10:4-6
New King James Version
4 For the weapons of our warfare are not [a]carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, 6 and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.
Jesus said concerning enemy sowing tares in Matthew 13:25
King James Version
25 But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.
Why We Don’t Lose Heart
So, we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal. (2 Corinthians 4:16–18)
Paul can’t see the way he used to. He can’t hear the way he used to. He doesn’t recover from beatings the way he used to. His strength, walking from town to town, doesn’t hold up the way it used to. He sees the wrinkles in his face and neck. His memory is not as good. And he admits that this is a threat to his faith and joy and courage.
But he does not lose heart. Why?
He doesn’t lose heart because his inner man is being renewed. How?
The renewing of his heart comes from something very strange: it comes from looking at what he can’t see.
We look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal. (2 Corinthians 4:18)
This is Paul’s way of not losing heart: looking at what he cannot see. What, then, did he see when he looked?
A few verses later in 2 Corinthians 5:7, he says, “We walk by faith, not by sight.” This doesn’t mean that he leaps into the dark without evidence of what’s there. It means that for now the most precious and important realities in the world are beyond our physical senses.
We “look” at these unseen things through the gospel. We strengthen our hearts — we renew our courage — by fixing our gaze on the invisible, objective truth that we see in the testimony of those who saw Christ face to face.
“God, who said, ‘Let light shine out of darkness,’ has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ” (2 Corinthians 4:6). “The light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.” We see this as it shines in our heart through the gospel.
We became Christians when this happened — whether we understood this or not. And with Paul we need to go on seeing with the eyes of the heart, so that we do not lose heart.
How to Not Lose Heart in Difficult Times
In Difficult Times
The world is scarred by increasingly ominous conflicts. We watch the news and wonder, What in the world is going to happen next? It’s easy to lose heart.
Then there is the huge moral shift that has taken place in our culture from a basis in God and his Word to a basis in us and our desires. It’s easy to lose heart.
We see a growing drift in many churches toward becoming more about us than about God, more about gathering a crowd than about honoring the Lord. It’s easy to lose heart.
Then there are personal burdens so many of us carry. Some are enduring long struggles over health–the endless round of treatments and the draining effects of wondering, Is this ever going to get better? Some are enduring great difficulties with loved ones–life at home has been soured. You don’t rest. It’s hard to find peace.
Some of you would say, “My life is not what I want it to be. This isn’t what I signed up for! I never thought I would find myself here!”
Don’t Lose Heart!
So we do not lose heart… (2 Corinthians 4:16)
If you’re like me, you might read these words and say, “Really? Well, tell me how! How am I supposed to live in a world like this and not lose heart? How can I face the pressures that are all around me and not be overwhelmed with discouragement?”
The verses that follows are the answer to these questions. The answer to how we can live in this world and not lose heart is headlined in 2 Corinthians 4:16-18, and then the answer is delivered in full in 2 Corinthians 5.
The headline is delivered in three contrasts:
1. Outer Self and Inner Self
We don’t lose heart because we are dealing with the outer self:All the pressures and stressors that are part of life in this body. But Paul reminds us that the “inner self is being renewed day by day.”
2. Present Affliction and Eternal Glory
We don’t lose heart because we face only this present affliction. That covers all the circumstances of your life that bring pressure to bear on you. But Paul reminds us that the eternal glory which is coming is “beyond all comparison.”
3. Seen and Unseen
We face the raw discouragement of what is seen: The world so often in conflict, the church so often in compromise. It’s not surprising that so many get discouraged. But we don’t lose hope, because Paul reminds us to consider not what we see around us but “the things that are unseen…for the things that are unseen are eternal.”
Remember This
Therefore, when you experience conflict against the outer self, when you face present affliction, when you are discouraged by what you see, remember this: Our inner self is being renewed. There is an eternal weight of glory that will far outweigh all of this. We endure by fixing our eyes on what is unseen.
So, what are these unseen things that we are to fix our eyes on? What is this glory and how does it help us in what we face this week? How exactly can our inner life be renewed day by day? All of these questions are answered in 2 Corinthians 5:
For we know that if the tent that is our earthly home is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. For in this tent we groan, longing to put on our heavenly dwelling, if indeed by putting it on we may not be found naked. For while we are still in this tent, we groan, being burdened—not that we would be unclothed, but that we would be further clothed, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life. He who has prepared us for this very thing is God, who has given us the Spirit as a guarantee.
So we are always of good courage. We know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord, for we walk by faith, not by sight. (2 Corinthians 5:1-7)
In conclusion, I say, storms of life will come – Not if but when. When it does come, the place to arrest the negative thought patterns that emerged as a result of a negative event or storms or that just alighted upon us from nowhere is in dealing with the issue with God’s word relative to that thought, then we will not lose heart when we meditate on God’s word long enough until it gets into our hearts. Using God’s words, you align the thoughts to His word and keep meditating on that word until you sabotage the scheme of the evil one concerning your life – Enough is Enough to captivity of Satan and welcome to the freedom in Christ Jesus will happen, is happening and will continue to happen as we base our words, our thoughts and our actions upon God’s words. God’s word works wonders if we will meditate on it long enough to allow the change to take place. So shall it be concerning you and me in Jesus name, Do I hear a BIG AMEN?
AMEN!!!
Remember this formula:
Read, Watch and Meditate on the process:
HEARING or SEEING or PERCEIVING Gives birth to THINKING which brings about EMOTIONS that triggers ACTIONS
If you cannot arrest it at the HEARING or SEEING stage, you can arrest it at the THINKING stage with God’s word, spoken out so that when you speak it, you can hear yourself. If you fail to arrest it at the THINKING stage, you are HYPNOTIZED.
To abort at the EMOTION stage, it will take divine intervention – an uphill task but not impossible.
Now, prayer for self-deliverance
SHORT PRAYER FOR SELF-DELIVERANCE.
“Lord Jesus Christ, I believe You died on the cross for my sins and rose again from the dead. You redeemed me by Your blood and I belong to You, and I want to live for You. I confess all my sins-known and unknown- I’m sorry for them all. I renounce them all. I forgive all others as I want You to forgive me. Forgive me now and cleanse me with Your blood. I thank You for the blood of Jesus Christ which cleanses me now from all sin. And I come to You now as my deliverer. You know my special needs-the thing that binds, that torments, that defiles; that evil spirit, that unclean spirit—I claim the promise of Your word, “Whosoever that calleth on the name of the Lord shall be delivered.” I call upon You now. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, deliver me and set me free. Satan, I renounce you and all your works. I lose myself from you, in the name of Jesus, and I command you to leave me right now in Jesus’ name. Amen!”
Let it come from your heart and see the salvation of the Lord!
