How to Enter God’s REST – Escaping SELF-IMPRISONMENT of the PAST and the PRESENT into the FREEDOM of the PRESENT and the FUTURE in God – Friends, the Lord spoke to me today in the vision of this morning concerning His bride – The Church, concerning Christians entering God’s REST highlighted in Hebrews 4, which has evaded most of us professing Christians in our walk and work with the Lord. I will share with you shortly and provide the remedy for this subsequently as led by His Spirit as we look at 22 foundational lies and the deliverance from self-imprisonment.
There are 24 more days left to the end of the 90 days fast for Self, Family, Church, my nation and the nations of the world – Glory be to His name, Amen.
When God calls us to an assignment, it is critically important we spend some quality time in the place of prayer for therein we find insights and therein the burden of the Lord for that assignment get transferred from the Lord to us. Then, we can be ready to move in the Spirit of the Lord to be the ambassador of that particular area – Carrying His burden for that niche.
Do you sense God calling you into Children’s ministry for example? Do you have a passion for children? Do you constantly see children in the dream and you see yourself ministering to them or delivering them from harm’s way? Does it seem difficult to be able to figure out exactly in what specific area of the call to children? Then, spend some quality time in the place of prayer and as the Holy Spirit grants promptings, begin to get involved in byte size steps in that specific area He is leading you into.
Every step you take towards obedience will lead you to the next step and the next step as God brings clarity to your path. Never fool yourself to think that God will give you the full step by step process involved in His journey into your purpose. It is a daily relationship affair with your creator that yields the secrets hidden in the journey of your life. Faith has to kick in and complete dependence and close daily relationship with God. Remember this – God wants to walk and work with you first before you can walk and work with others.
Doing the work without a daily, close relationship with God is like putting the cart in front of the horse – That is tantamount to restlessness and not God’s REST.
What I have just illustrated with children ministry can also apply to any other ministry the Lord desires for us to act as ambassadors for Him in. He is looking for a man or a woman amongst us that will stand in the gap, represent Him as His ambassador in that area.
Ezekiel 22:30 And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the fence, and stand in the breach before me for the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found none.
That is what the church stands for – to be the ambassadorial light to that sector. The church is meant to equip the saints to go out and be Jesus in those sectors. We should never relegate our responsibility to full-time pastors, priest, and missionaries for we are all priest and kings unto our God both in the four walls of the church, among believers, and especially in the marketplace where God has solidly placed us. Read this.
1 Peter 2:9

9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a consecrated nation, a [special] people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies [the wonderful deeds and virtues and perfections] of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.
We should never allow the GOLD we get from the marketplaces to become the god as in rebellion in the desert by the Israelites – We must look for every way and means possible to be God’s representative wherever we are placed. He did not save you so you can warm the seat in God’s house every Sunday morning. He saved you so you can bring others to the saving knowledge of Christ. He does the calling or bringing and you do the presenting or witnessing through Christ like fruit– Read
Exodus 32:1-8

32 Now when the people saw that Moses delayed coming down from the mountain, they gathered together before Aaron and said to him, “Come, make us a [a]god who will go before us; as for this Moses, the man who brought us up from the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him.” 2 So Aaron replied to them, “Take off the gold rings that are in the ears of your wives, your sons and daughters, and bring them to me.” 3 So all the people took off the gold rings that were in their ears and brought them to Aaron. 4 And he took the gold from their hands, and fashioned it with an engraving tool and made it into a molten [b]calf; and they said, “This is your god, O Israel, who brought you up from the land of Egypt.” 5 Now when Aaron saw the molten calf, he built an altar before it; and Aaron made a proclamation, and said, “Tomorrow shall be a feast to the Lord!” 6 So they got up early the next day and offered burnt offerings, and brought peace offerings; then the people sat down to eat and drink, and got up to play [shamefully—without moral restraint].
7 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Go down at once, for your people, whom you brought up from the land of Egypt, have corrupted themselves. 8 They have quickly turned aside from the way which I commanded them. They have made themselves a molten calf, and have worshiped it and sacrificed to it, and said, ‘This is your god, O Israel, who brought you up from the land of Egypt!’”
Take time out to seek out your niche and stick with it:
We should take time to seek out the particular niche God has assigned to us when we committed our lives to Him. When we don’t talk about the gospel or share the gospel in the marketplace where God has placed us into, we lose the full armor of God has highlighted in Ephesians 6:13-17 and we get exposed to the enemy in that area..Do you notice that very rarely do people suggest compromising deals to you when you preach to them? They want to get away from you because light and darkness cannot stay together. Read this

13 Therefore, put on the complete armor of God, so that you will be able to [successfully] resist and stand your ground in the evil day [of danger], and having done everything [that the crisis demands], to stand firm [in your place, fully prepared, immovable, victorious]. 14 So stand firm and hold your ground, having [a]tightened the wide band of truth (personal integrity, moral courage) around your waist and having put on the breastplate of righteousness (an upright heart), 15 and having [b]strapped on your feet the gospel of peace in preparation [to face the enemy with firm-footed stability and the readiness produced by the good news]. 16 Above all, lift up the [protective] [c]shield of faith with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.
With every assignment, a particular OFFICIAL gift for that office is assigned to you for effectiveness in that office. Let me explain that.
If God has called me as an evangelist, He grants me the gift of healing and deliverance. You tend to see that gift in almost all evangelists except they have made themselves so. When I say an office, I mean in exercising that gift, I have no hassle in calling that gift into action as I function in the niche God has called me into. Although I can operate or flow in teaching, flow in prophecy, administration, and others, I will not be as effective as a pastor whose call includes teaching as an office. If I default to pastoring, whilst an evangelist, i will not be as effective in that office as I am in my evangelistic ministry.
So, as an evangelist, I will need the ministry of a pastor’s teaching gift to be all that God has called me to be to function as an evangelist… it does not matter if I have set up a church and have members numbering 10 million…If I do not accept the ministry of a teacher, I might end not being able to keep a home as an example and my REST in Christ might not be complete in that area or any area where I need the ministry of other members of the body of Christ for effectiveness – Mind you, the member of Christ family does not have to be part of my glorious one and only denomination.
Without the ministry of other gifts in the body of Christ, I will function as a one-legged evangelist, deficient in sound teaching and that can lead to my downfall in ministry. Nobody can call me to order when I err in ministry.
This can be applied to the office of a prophet with the gift of prophecy as a gift.
I have seen evangelist that are so effective in their call that they will not accept the ministry of a prophet or teacher…Some have even said things like, “how can God speak to you without speaking to me first, the general overseer of the Church?”
God allowed this division of labor (labour) so that we can all work together as a body of believers without which we can’t function effectively. Just like the Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit are one but have different functions without division, schism, and the like happening among them. We might be getting the earthly results but little or no spiritual or heavenly impact. Or we have earthly result but no spiritual fruit – By their fruit, you shall know them Jesus said.
This was one of the reasons, Jesus, in Mathew 7: 15 -22 said

A Tree and Its Fruit
15 “Beware of the false prophets, [teachers] who come to you dressed as sheep [appearing gentle and innocent], but inwardly are ravenous wolves. 16 By their fruit you will recognize them [that is, by their contrived doctrine and self-focus]. Do people pick grapes from thorn bushes or figs from thistles? 17 Even so, every healthy tree bears good fruit, but the unhealthy tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Therefore, by their fruit you will recognize them [as false prophets].
21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me on that day [when I judge them], ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, and driven out demons in Your name, and done many miracles in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them publicly, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me [you are banished from My presence], you who act wickedly [disregarding My commands].’

God’s Call and God’s Grace
Where God calls, He grants grace as He sees willingness but willingness only comes in the hot pursuit of God – In the secret place of intimacy with Him – John 15. In the willingness to work with other body of believers – not just those in my local denomination – Do it without Him and others and you find yourself in self-imprisonment with signs and wonders of course but no Christ-Like fruit that is the evidence of God’s grace, provided in the place of obedience.
God’s call to me
When God called me into the ministry, providing me a general sector to the saints on March 16th, 2006, He first told me to pray for His Church and His leaders. When I began to pray and fast, He now went a step further on April 22nd, 2006 to show me His burden and put the burden for unity in the body on me through visible manifestation. The burden has remained till this day. As I pray, He shows me things concerning His body and that He expects me to communicate this message to His Church so that the Church can take corrective action and enter His REST in that area.
If they don’t, then the words will stand as a witness.
What the Lord revealed to me this morning concerning His Church and what we must do
“Some of you are living a lie. A lie that you have bought into, built a prison house with the material the lie delivered to you. You got into the prison wall built on the foundation of this lie locked yourself in and swallowed the key and then you flip around and ask me to unlock the door of the prison without vomiting out the key that I can use to unlock you from your self-imprisonment”
On further clarity on those lies? The Lord make made me understand that some of these lies are logged in the subconscious mind – the the bible calls it the hidden man
Some of these lies are some old belief system that we never allowed the word of God to deal with and transform us into His image and likeness after we became Christians. So, on the conscious level, we have mental consent on Gods word concerning those lies but on a deeper subconscious level, we hold on to our old beliefs and sometimes we don’t even know because it is hidden on the subliminal level.
Paul alluded to this in 2 Timothy 3:1-7

“Difficult Times Will Come”
3 But understand this, that in the last days dangerous times [of great stress and trouble] will come [difficult days that will be hard to bear]. 2 For people will be lovers of self [narcissistic, self-focused], lovers of money [impelled by greed], boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy and profane, 3 [and they will be] unloving [devoid of natural human affection, calloused and inhumane], irreconcilable, malicious gossips, devoid of self-control [intemperate, immoral], brutal, haters of good, 4 traitors, reckless, conceited, lovers of [sensual] pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 holding to a form of [outward] godliness (religion), although they have denied its power [for their conduct nullifies their claim of faith]. Avoid such people and keep far away from them. 6 For among them are those who worm their way into homes and captivate morally weak and spiritually-dwarfed women weighed down by [the burden of their] sins, easily swayed by various impulses, 7 always learning and listening to anybody who will teach them, but never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
Paul, in writing to the Romans, addressed this prison experience in great detail
Romans 7:21-25

21 So I find it to be the law [of my inner self], that evil is present in me, the one who wants to do good. 22 For I joyfully delight in the law of God in my inner self [with my new nature], 23 but I see a different law and rule of action in the members of my body [in its appetites and desires], waging war against the law of my mind and subduing me and making me a prisoner of the law of sin which is within my members. 24 Wretched and miserable man that I am! Who will [rescue me and] set me free from this body of death [this corrupt, mortal existence]? 25 Thanks be to God [for my deliverance] through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, on the one hand I myself with my mind serve the law of God, but on the other, with my flesh [my human nature, my worldliness, my sinful capacity—I serve] the law of sin.
So how do we dismantle these lies:
Here is it
2 Corinthians 10:3-6

3 For though we walk in the flesh [as mortal men], we are not carrying on our [spiritual] warfare according to the flesh and using the weapons of man. 4 The weapons of our warfare are not physical [weapons of flesh and blood]. Our weapons are divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. 5 We are destroying sophisticated arguments and every exalted and proud thing that sets itself up against the [true] knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought and purpose captive to the obedience of Christ, 6 being ready to punish every act of disobedience, when your own obedience [as a church] is complete.
How do we overcome these lies and enter His REST in that area already identified? – Remedy:
The answer is found in Hebrews 4:1-14

The Believer’s Rest
4 Therefore, while the promise of entering His rest still remains and is freely offered today, let us fear, in case any one of you may seem to come short of reaching it or think he has come too late. 2 For indeed we have had the good news [of salvation] preached to us, just as the Israelites also [when the good news of the promised land came to them]; but the message they heard did not benefit them, because it was not united with faith [in God] by those who heard. 3 For we who believe [that is, we who personally trust and confidently rely on God] enter that rest [so we have His inner peace now because we are confident in our salvation, and assured of His power], just as He has said,
“As I swore [an oath] in My wrath,
They shall not enter My rest,”
[this He said] although His works were [a]completed from the foundation of the world [waiting for all who would believe].
4 For somewhere [in Scripture] He has said this about the seventh day: “And God rested on the seventh day from all His works”; 5 and again in this, “They shall not enter My rest.” 6 Therefore, since the promise remains for some to enter His rest, and those who formerly had the good news preached to them failed to [grasp it and did not] enter because of [their unbelief evidenced by] disobedience, 7 He again sets a definite day, [a new] “Today,” [providing another opportunity to enter that rest by] saying through David after so long a time, just as has been said before [in the words already quoted],
“Today if you hear His voice,
Do not harden your hearts.”
8 [This mention of a rest was not a reference to their entering into Canaan.] For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not speak about another day [of opportunity] after that. 9 So there remains a [full and complete] Sabbath rest for the people of God. 10 For the one who has once entered His rest has also rested from [the weariness and pain of] his [human] labors, just as God rested from [those labors uniquely] His own. 11 Let us therefore make every effort to enter that rest [of God, to know and experience it for ourselves], so that no one will fall by following the same example of disobedience [as those who died in the wilderness]. 12 For the word of God is living and active and full of power [making it operative, energizing, and effective]. It is sharper than any two-edged [b]sword, penetrating as far as the division of the [c]soul and spirit [the completeness of a person], and of both joints and marrow [the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and judging the very thoughts and intentions of the heart. 13 And not a creature exists that is concealed from His sight, but all things are open and exposed, and revealed to the eyes of Him with whom we have to give account.
14 Inasmuch then as we [believers] have a great High Priest who has [already ascended and] passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession [of faith and cling tenaciously to our absolute trust in Him as Savior].
Entering God’s Rest – Twenty Two (22) Foundational lies requiring deliverance:
I will not complete this write-up to the body of believers in Christ without highlighting twenty-two –( 22) foundational lies that have imprisoned many. With the help of the Holy Spirit, we can identify them and using the transforming power of the truth in God’s word, receive deliverance from them and walk in newness and REST for which Christ died to provide us all.
Here are some of them..they are more but these are the ones that came to me this morning:
1) God the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit do not exist and Jesus is not God – same as every other prophet; Jesus is not coming back; The Holy Spirit came at Pentecost and no longer relevant today; Baptism in the Holy Spirit is not necessary for the work of ministry – Water baptism is all that is necessary; We are not good enough for God to dialogue with us or to receive the leading of the Holy Spirit only the priest, the prophet and church leaders have that privilege; Heaven and hell do not exist; Prophecy Dreams and Visions are for the old-time, not for today; Here are scriptures that can break the stronghold hidden in the inner man:
Genesis 1:1-2;26-27

The Creation
1 In the beginning God ([a]Elohim) [b]created [by forming from nothing] the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was [c]formless and void or a waste and emptiness, and darkness was upon the face of the deep [primeval ocean that covered the unformed earth]. The Spirit of God was moving (hovering, brooding) over the face of the waters.
26 Then God said, “Let Us (Father, Son, Holy Spirit) make man in Our image, according to Our likeness [not physical, but a spiritual personality and moral likeness]; and let them have complete authority over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the cattle, and over the entire earth, and over everything that creeps and crawls on the earth.” 27 So God created man in His own image, in the image and likeness of God He created him; male and female He created them.
John 10:30-38

Acts 1:4-8

6 So when they had come together, they asked Him repeatedly, “Lord, are You at this time reestablishing the kingdom and restoring it to Israel?” 7 He said to them, “It is not for you to know the times or epochs which the Father has fixed by His own authority. 8 But you will receive power and ability when the Holy Spirit comes upon you; and you will be My witnesses [to tell people about Me] both in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and Samaria, and even to the ends of the earth.”

Acts 8:14-24

14 When the apostles in Jerusalem heard that [the people of] Samaria had accepted the word of God, they sent Peter and John to them. 15 They came down and prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit; 16 for He had not yet fallen on any of them; they had simply been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus [as His possession]. 17 Then Peter and John laid their hands on them [one by one], and they received the Holy Spirit. 18 Now when Simon saw that the Spirit was given through the laying on of the apostles’ hands, he offered them money, 19 saying, “Give me this authority and power too, so that anyone on whom I lay my hands may receive the Holy Spirit.” 20 But Peter said to him, “May your money be destroyed along with you, because you thought you could buy the [free] gift of God with money! 21 You have no part or share in this matter, because your heart (motive, purpose) is not right before God. 22 So repent of this wickedness of yours, and pray to the Lord that, if possible, this thought of your heart may be forgiven you. 23 For I see that you are [a]provoked by bitterness and bound by sin.” 24 But Simon answered, “Pray to the Lord for me both of you, so that nothing of what you have said will come upon me.”
Acts 10:44-48

44 While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell on all those who were listening to the message [confirming God’s acceptance of Gentiles]. 45 All the circumcised believers who came with Peter were amazed, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out even on the Gentiles. 46 For they heard them talking in [unknown] tongues (languages) and exalting and magnifying and praising God. Then Peter said, 47 “Can anyone refuse water for these people to be baptized, since they have received the Holy Spirit just as we did?” 48 And he ordered that they be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked him to stay there for a few days.
Acts 19:1-7

19 It happened that while Apollos was in Corinth, Paul went through the upper [inland] districts and came down to Ephesus, and found some disciples. 2 He asked them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed [in Jesus as the Christ]?” And they said, “No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.” 3 And he asked, “Into what then were you baptized?” They said, “Into John’s baptism.” 4 Paul said, “John performed a baptism of repentance, continually telling the people to believe in Him who was coming after him, that is, [to confidently accept and joyfully believe] in Jesus [the Messiah and Savior].” 5 After hearing this, they were baptized [again, this time] in the name of the Lord Jesus. 6 And when Paul laid his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they began speaking in [unknown] tongues (languages) and prophesying. 7 There were about twelve men in all.
2. Every person I engage with today is a mirror of my past and if I am not careful, they will act exactly like my past acquaintances.
3. Every event of the past is a reflection of what will happen to me in my future and so I must filter every event in my present so that I do not repeat the event of the past in my future.
4.God is in control of everything that happens or happened to me and the world around and my involvement or participation in the process is unnecessary – He will just make everything work together for my good in my life and the world. – May Gods’ will be done we all say and fold our hands and do nothing.
5. Healing and deliverance are not of today and if God wants to heal and deliver me, it is up to Him and not me. I cannot influence that
6. The gifts of the Holy Spirit are not for me or for today but for special people in God’s House like the pastors, priests, prophets, and bishops.
7. I must speak or confess to a priest or other high ranking people in God’s house before God can respond to me.
8. I must enter into a church building for God to hear or answer my prayers because there is more anointing in God’s house than anywhere else.
9. If I do not give offerings and or tithe to God, I am cursed and can’t succeed in life. Maybe, that is why things re not working out for me.
10. There are many ways to God and not necessarily through Jesus Christ.
11. All Religions are ok and very important and all lead to God
12. Homosexuality, Lesbianism, transsexuality and all the other LGBTQ group does not sin, it is ok with God because He created them and so accepts them as they are.
13. Satan, devil and the kingdom of darkness is overrated and does not exist.
14. It is ok to practice magic and witchcraft and God is happy with it – Just exercising my inner powers.
15. Everything we do here on earth has no eternal consequences, we die, that is it.
16. When we die, we can reincarnate as another person, animal, bird, or whatever nature allows.
17. We have powers in us and can exercise it whichever way and however and whenever we want without God’s authorization.
18. There is nothing like God’s destiny for my life. I am a product of my choices and I am not to ask a higher power for authorization for decisions that have to do with my life outcomes on earth.
19. I can please God with very God works and can go to heaven that way.
20. I can astral travel to different regions in the spirit realm and God is ok with that.
21. If I sin a couple of times, I am better than those who sin more and God will weight it to decide where I end up on the judgment day
22. There is nothing like judgment day and the book of revelation is a lie and will never happen- God will never do such a terrible thing to His creation.
These are just a few of the lies that we have built our foundation on even as professing Christians. We reject some of these lies consciously but on the subconscious level, they remain lodged there without us even realizing it because when we became Christians, we did not deal with them in the light of God’s word and renounce these beliefs.
I will encourage us to take time out and ask the Holy Spirit to bring them to light so that we can deal with them and have the REST that God has promised His children who are obedient and submit to Him completely.
Prayer of Release from captivity into Freedom and Rest:
Father God, thank you for today, for your word is so true. Your word is a two-edged sword that penetrates the joints and marrow and a discerner of the intents and purposes of our hearts and actions. We ask that Your Holy Spirit will search the inner recesses of our heart and soul and bring to light the darkness and lies that have or have nicely hidden in us that will not allow us to walk and work in the newness of our relationship with You, Lord Jesus Christ.
As You do this, we commit to use Your word to apply to these lies whilst meditating and working them out in our actions and experiences. Release Your grace unto us to do this so that we can receive the REST You promised us in your word in Jesus name. Amen
Taking Authority over Strongholds:
We renounce those beliefs and we take authority over the heart of stone in us – the stronghold of those lies, we bind them and submit them at the foot of the cross at Calvary in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen. Lord Jesus, we ask that You release into our being the heart of flesh, the heart that desires to line up with Your kingdom and Your will according to the order of Matthew 6:10 here on earth in Jesus name, Amen and Amen
