Seven days of Prayer and Fasting for divine positioning and effectiveness – Day #6, September 15, 2020- A prayer Prayer of Total Dedication, Consecration, and Submission to God – What Is Consecration and Why Do I Need to Consecrate Myself to God?
The birth of a child is an exciting and happy event, and we all recognize it’s the beginning of a new life. We’d never say it’s an end or conclusion.
It’s the same with us believers. Our being saved and born again with the life of God is truly wondrous and joyful. But it’s not a conclusion. Our regeneration is only the beginning of our spiritual journey. And just as babies need to grow and develop, we Christians need to move forward step by step.
After we’re regenerated, the next step in our spiritual, life-long journey is to present, or give, ourselves to the Lord. This is to consecrate ourselves to Him.
What does “consecration” mean?
The word consecration isn’t a commonly used word, but even so, we might have an existing concept about what it means. In religion, the word consecration has been used in relation to the official ordaining of a person to be a preacher, a priest, or a missionary. This use implies consecration is for a special category of people.
But the consecration revealed in the New Testament is for every believer in Christ. It’s not something only for knowledgeable Christians or spiritually mature ones. In fact, as we’ll see, we cannot subjectively know the life of Christ in us or reach spiritual maturity without consecrating ourselves to the Lord. This is because consecration is the basis for every spiritual experience.
So what is consecration? Consecration is our giving ourselves to the Lord to become “a living sacrifice,” as Paul says in Romans 12:1:
“I exhort you therefore, brothers, through the compassions of God to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, well pleasing to God, which is your reasonable service.”
In the Old Testament, a sacrifice was something set apart for God by being put on the altar. When people offered that thing to God, it no longer belonged to the one offering it. It belonged to God, for His use and His satisfaction.
Today, when we consecrate ourselves to the Lord, we become a living sacrifice. We give up our own claims on ourselves and put ourselves completely in His hands. Previously, our life was for our use and our satisfaction; now it is for His.
When we present ourselves to the Lord as a living sacrifice, we’re simply saying, “Lord Jesus, I am for You. I’m no longer for myself, the world, or anything else. I am for Your use and Your satisfaction.”
Now, how far do we want to go with God? This is a decision moment and today’s prayer is not for everybody that is unyielding..
Consecration is a continuous process…it is not a one off affair..because we miss that mark all the time..

The Transforming Power of the Gospel
12 Beloved friends, what should be our proper response to God’s marvelous mercies? I encourage you to surrender yourselves to God to be his sacred, living sacrifices. And live in holiness, experiencing all that delights his heart. For this becomes your genuine expression of worship.
2 Stop imitating the ideals and opinions of the culture around you,[a] but be inwardly transformed by the Holy Spirit through a total reformation of how you think. This will empower you to discern God’s will as you live a beautiful life, satisfying and perfect in his eyes.
Your Proper Role in the Body of Christ
3 God has given me grace to speak a warning about pride. I would ask each of you to be emptied of self-promotion and not create a false image of your importance. Instead, honestly assess your worth by using your God-given faith as the standard of measurement, and then you will see your true value with an appropriate self-esteem.
4 In the human body there are many parts and organs, each with a unique function. 5 And so it is in the body of Christ. For though we are many, we’ve all been mingled into one body in Christ. This means that we are all vitally joined to one another, with each contributing to the others.
6 God’s marvelous grace imparts to each one of us varying gifts and ministries that are uniquely ours. So if God has given you the grace-gift of prophecy, you must activate your gift by using the proportion of faith you have to prophesy. 7 If your grace-gift is serving, then thrive in serving others well. If you have the grace-gift of teaching, then be actively teaching and training others. 8 If you have the grace-gift of encouragement,[b] then use it often to encourage others. If you have the grace-gift of giving to meet the needs of others, then may you prosper in your generosity without any fanfare. If you have the gift of leadership, be passionate about your leadership. And if you have the gift of showing compassion,[c] then flourish in your cheerful[d] display of compassion.
Transformed Relationships
9 Let the inner movement of your heart always be to love one another, and never play the role of an actor wearing a mask. Despise evil and embrace everything that is good and virtuous.
10 Be devoted to tenderly loving your fellow believers as members of one family. Try to outdo yourselves in respect and honor of one another.
11 Be enthusiastic to serve the Lord, keeping your passion toward him boiling hot! Radiate with the glow of the Holy Spirit and let him fill you with excitement as you serve him.
12 Let this hope burst forth within you, releasing a continual joy. Don’t give up in a time of trouble,[e] but commune with God at all times.
13 Take a constant interest in the needs of God’s beloved people and respond by helping them. And eagerly welcome people as guests into your home.
14 Speak blessing, not cursing, over those who reject and persecute you.
15 Celebrate with those who celebrate, and weep with those who grieve. 16 Live happily together in a spirit of harmony, and be as mindful of another’s worth as you are your own. Don’t live with a lofty mind-set, thinking you are too important to serve others, but be willing to do menial tasks and identify with those who are humble minded.[f] Don’t be smug or even think for a moment that you know it all.
17 Never hold a grudge or try to get even, but plan your life around the noblest way to benefit others. 18 Do your best to live as everybody’s friend.[g]
19 Beloved, don’t be obsessed with taking revenge, but leave that to God’s righteous justice.[h] For the Scriptures say:
“If you don’t take justice in your own hands,
I will release justice for you,” says the Lord.[i]
20 And:
If your enemy is hungry, buy him lunch!
Win him over with kindness.[j]
For your surprising generosity will awaken his conscience,
and God will reward you with favor.[k]
21 Never let evil defeat you, but defeat evil with good.[l]
*1 Peter 2:5,9*
The Passion Translation
5 Come and be his “living stones”[a] who are continually being assembled into a sanctuary for God. For now you serve as holy priests,[b] offering up spiritual sacrifices that he readily accepts through Jesus Christ.
9 But you are God’s chosen treasure[a]—priests who are kings,[b] a spiritual “nation” set apart as God’s devoted ones. He called you out of darkness to experience his marvelous light, and now he claims you as his very own. He did this so that you would broadcast his glorious wonders throughout the world.
*Ephesians 2:21-22*
The Passion Translation
21 This entire building is under construction and is continually growing under his supervision until it rises up completed as the holy temple of the Lord himself. 22 This means that God is transforming each one of you into the Holy of Holies, his dwelling place, through the power of the Holy Spirit living in you!
*Hereunder is the prayer* …God will take note and mark you down after the below confession…remember, all that you own also will belong to Him and whatever He tells you to do, you will do… Your spiritual senses will become more alert of the communication between you and headquarters will increase dramatically!
If you are ready, let’s us go to the consecration prayers.
*Father, I pray the Prayer of Dedication,Consecration, and Submission. In every area of my life, I belong to You.*
*Father, I’ll go where you want me to go, I’ll do what you want me to do. Not my will, but your will be done.*
*Thank you, Father that you work in me both to will and to do of your good pleasure. You have a good plan for my life, a plan of peace and joy.*
*Father, what you want and what you desire is what I want; that is what I desire. Not my will, but your will for my life every day, Father. Not my own way, not the way of the flesh, but the way of the Spirit. Father, your will, your plan, your way.*
*Father, I dedicate my life to you in every area. You have a plan for me in every area of life.*
*Thank you, Father, for the joy of obedience. I will obey you with joy. Father, I want to have the spirit of obedience in my life, not rebellion or pride, not resistance or hard-heartedness, but a soft, sensitive heart that is willing to do anything.*
*I rebuke rebellion and stubbornness in Jesus’ Name.*
*Father, I say before your presence that I am willing to do anything you want me to do. No matter what man says, no matter what the world says, you have found a willing person. You have found an obedient person.*
*Father, I will do what you say all the way, just the way you say it, no more and no less, and with joy. Thank you, Father, for the spirit of faith and the spirit of obedience. And Father, thank you that your will will be fulfilled in my life to your glory. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.*
You are done!
Remember, _*in Christ, you are a Priest and a King…do the needful by setting yourself apart..God is willing to go with you by how far you are willing to go with Him..Go the full hug today!*_
Shalom!
